I'm a millenial from Italy and this set reminds me of an american sitcom, set in the 50s/60s called "Happy Days" where there was a coffee place with a jukebox and waiters kinda dressed like that, it's giving me the vibes, you know. And also another telefilm/series, one of my fav, called Beverly Hills 90210, I dont know why, maybe because of the diner local, "the peach pit". Just the series was from the 90s. Both these sitcoms still air from time to time on public television but so much more when I was a pre teen. I'm so fond of them... And also the figure on the box reminds me of tiny mattel dolls called "Shelly", they were the mini versions of Barbie's, the kid version. And they were sooo adorable even my mom loved them. Idk, this set is so nostalgic for me 🌸 P. S. : whenever they say the 90s are vintage, I feel so old and I'm only (almost) 30 😂 P. S. II : Soda for us in Italy is the soda... I dont know how to explain. The "chinotto" is our type, kind of, coca cola. Coca cola is simply coca cola or pepsi. The sprite would also be considered a kind of soda, also called in Italian "gassosa". We just don't call every single thing a soda. We rather call them by their branded name. Interesting coz i never really thought of it until now... 😂😊

Floridian individual with the tightly coiled curls you love though mine are less Shirley Temple and more Orange Blossom from Strawberry Shortcake. Here we say soda but I like to say sodie pop like the olden days or I call anything non water juice. When we visited Costa Rica their little outdoor markets where they sold produce were called sodas so I’m not sure what they call soft drinks. I am a soda connoisseur and have tried many a weird and whacky flavor but my favorite out there flavors are cherry, watermelon, apple, and bubble gum. Though any exotic fruit flavored soda is amazing! The blue ice cream here would be called Superman but usually that’s got other colors too. Since that vibrant blue color isn’t natural all the blue ice cream here is dyed, usually vanilla since that’s the easiest to dye.

Used to call it soda when I lived in Connecticut (birth state). Moved to Michigan when I was 10. Mainly call it pop now but sometimes soda still.

Poodle Skirts came out in 1947 and Barbie came out in 1959. Big Boy Burger was founded in 1936. This whole set is very reminiscent of the late 40's into the 50's. Taking Order Lady and Retro Cashier are my favorites. When I was living in California there were Mel's Diners there (which were also in the movie American Graffiti). They had the 1950's vibe to them, it was pretty awesome. The waitresses didn't dress up because it wasn't a full on themed restaurant, but it had a juke box and such. I also use the word Soda and not Pop.
