Hello. You did quite good. Kudos. I'm from Germany so let me give you some thoughts from someone who's born here. First of all, first time I watched the video I was shocked and deeply moved. The song/ video takes a very deep look into our german souls and how most of us feel about our country. It's a love- hate- relationship. The video is loaded with tons of symbols, that as a German you catch onto. Let's start: in the intro you see Germania ( Personification of Germany) during roman/ germanian tribes time. The red Lazer represents the "red thread" of the story/ history. Astronauts from the future bringing Germania in a glass coffin (snow-white) so she can lead through the/her german history. Next you observe the twenties(Weimar Republic). The prison scene representing the rough, violent times especially for the majority of the population struggling to survive. Money raining down/ the great depression. And Germany's first try as a democratic state. In between Germania is dressed in knight's armor awaking her knights/band with the Lazarus spear. Next Germania is pushed in a wheelchair by the band through the Berlin Holocaust Memorial with burning bodies. Next vignette the office scene showing east Germany and west Germany reunited (1989). Then you're being taken back to mideveal times, monks/ church are feasting off of Germania. In most scenes you'll see some church man involved. No coincidence. The concentration camp scene in the background you see V2 rockets ignition. The inmates are wearing different types of stars on their chests and a sign on the gallows reads: no photos. Germania wears an eye-patch first on her left, than on her right eye. Than a quick shot of Germania dressed modern with lots of gold leading german shepherds., representing Germany's wealth. The 70's scene shows the RAF- extremists holding Germania/ Germany hostage. Next vignette is the witch burnings shifting to the book burning. If you have a close look, at minute 4:45 you see a church man holding up a cross hugging a Nazi, symbolising the churches over all position to the horrific events happening during 1933-1945. The birth scene. Germania is giving birth to dogs respectively "Leonberger" a breed preferred by Kings and Queens. The Breed almost went extinct during WW1 and WW2. A cardinal helping (dressed in red) a new Germany being born. At minute 5:50 you see the riots against refugees homes in the 90's in Hoyerswerda. Molotovs are being thrown and a car is being pushed over with the help of a man dressed in Nazi uniform. Than the scenes/ time vignettes start shifting faster and faster, showing how many times, when circumstances becoming to extreme everything is falling apart and Germania ( dressed in knight's) armor is crying. The outro is the piano version of the song "Sonne" which completed unfortunately you decided to skip(😉) how we feel thinking of our past: a sense of sadness. To sum it up. Germany has a long, wild, violent, unique history, because we as a state of today exist only since 1989. Yet the roots go back a very long time. "Young and yet so old" I hope that helped a little to understand the video and with that us Germans. We don't have a strong feeling of patriotism, but a strong sense of unity. With love from Germany 🤘 😎

@jreyman2 жыл бұрын
"Live in Paris," I'd rank as third. "Live in Paris," while being a great performance, live, there were some special effects applied, augmenting the recorded performance, making the video look a bit campy. Had the video director, and the editor shot it clean (without any video effects), the Paris video would have been better. Rammstein: Live in St. Petersburg, 2019, or Rammstein: Live at Madison Square Garden -- Both are excellent performances, and no special effects applied to the video, what you see is what the attending fans seen, providing as close an experience to being there, as one can have from home.

Yeah, Rammstein are huge worldwide, since 1994. They sold out the New Yorker Madison Square garden within minutes multiple times, and tour with over 30 trucks. They won grammies and MTV awards. And their videos are excellent, only the best directors who also work with pop artists like Lady Gaga. So you're up to something. ^^ They had their breakthrough in the US in the 90ies, thanks to movie director David Lynch, who put their songs on his soundtracks. Rammstein also had an appearance in the movie Triple X with Vin Diesel, as themselves playing a show. They are well recognized in the US alternative scene, they are friends with Korn, Marilyn Manson, System of a down. They also played live on Jimmy Kimmel a few years ago. i recommend 2 videos to start with. "Rammstein: Paris - Du Hast (Official Video)", wich is an official live video, and maybe their best. "Rammstein - Zeit (Official Video)", wich is my favorite music video by them.

I'd never heard Du Hast sung by 30,000 people. Their concert is one of a kind theatre, and music. Every place the go, it's the same. Most incredible concert ever. And yet, they are humble, not egotists. At the end of their concert they got down on one knee, and bowed their heads to the audience. That was overwhelming. They were thanking the audience. Anyone who didn't go, has missed out on this one of a kind performance. I'm told they are touring through all of Europe in 2023. That's a long time on the road

The Sonne (Sun) instrumental at the very end credits is a form of hope after retelling the history of Germany in the video which is a bit depressing. Sonne is about the sun rising. The lyrics are also very reminiscent of their old songs too, their history. It's pretty genius all around. Tills lyrics are like dark poetry and his voice is perfect to bring that across. They've always been amazing, even since their first album. I was introduced to them in the early 90s with Du Hast on MTV! (I'm 41 lol). Their videos are always very high production too and yes, their concerts are insane. React to some Madison Square Garden lives...brace yourself lol

Rammstein is definitely the band worth checking. They are in the business for almost 30 years now and have a very unique style and vibe. They are famous for their live performances but also have high-quality videos. They are astonishing storytellers who can create multiple meanings for their songs (so it's always good to check their vids with English caps or official subs if U want to discover their full potential). Their heaviness does not necessarily lay in their music itself but more in their lyrics and visuals and how skillfully they are using controversy and cross the lines - I mean, any lines. Not connecting the visuals and lyrics from this song is missing the whole point why this song exists in the first place!! This is such an important statement about their country and its history and how Germans still suffer from that daily. Some songs represent such huge historical awareness. This consciousness is seldom seen or heard of in music! The video shows a very deep look into the german soul feeling and how most of them feel about their country. It's a very tough love/ hate relationship for most I guess. Eva Libbach (who I don't know personally) has more info about the context of the song here down below. Thanks for that Eva! You smile and then you realized what you see. Thas great. But what will "Till" say with it? What means Überheblich, überlegen Übernehmen, übergeben Überraschen, überfallen Deutschland, Deutschland über allen ? Right. Hear the next part! (Deutschland!) Mein Herz in Flammen (My heart in flames) Will dich lieben und verdammen (will love you and damn you) (Deutschland!) Dein Atem kalt (your breath is cold) So jung und doch so alt (so young and yet so old) (Deutschland!) Deine Liebe ist Fluch und Segen (Your love is a blessing and a curse) (Deutschland!) Meine Liebe kann ich dir nicht geben (I can't give you my love) Then in the outro you can see the cast of the video. All the people from WW1 and WW2 are polish / jewish. That was probably the most intense video you could have picked from Rammstein. Loved your amazed facial expression, like a little kid unwrapping the Christmas present. As for Live versions of Rammstein, a viewing of "Pussy" would likely drop your jaw. You may not want to play the studio version of the song as YT may have an issue with it. "Auslaender" is fun viewing of an incredibly catch, almost techno song. "Mein Teil" features incredible live stunts surrounding the dark story of this song. As for other metal bands, there is the inevitable Nightwish. You start with "Ghost Love Score" live from Wacken 2013, continue with "Romanticide", work you way to "The greatest show on earth". Only then, and only then you end up with "The Poet and the Pendulum". Of course, there is Jinjer "Pisces" which under no circumstances you should preview. Then there is Floor Jansen and Henk Poort performing "Phantom of the Opera" on "Beste Zangers".

Great reaction - love this song. If you have not been Down the Nightwish rabbithole yet - you have something extraordinary waiting for you - the composer is known as Metal Mozart and the lead Singer, Floor Jansen, is World class. Start with Ghost Love Score from Wacken In 2013 and take it from there….greetings from Denmark

one could class this broadly as industrial metal based on the beat pattern and synth elements, but it has it's own genre in germany called 'neue deutsche harte' (new german hardness)

I believe exploring more metal in the future is going to be amazing, it's a genre that always pushes the limits of music from 10 to 11, also why a lot of the old stuff is still so great today Also idk if slayer is a good starter lol, unless you know what you're getting into 😈 But metallica would be great to start with and then go into more extreme stuff

The thing I love about Rammstein is that every single time I listen to a track, regardless of when it was recorded, I hear something new. Deutschland is a track I listen to time and again; it's so solid and strong and passionate and emotional. It makes my heart flutter every time I hear it. But man, never skip the credits ... ever!

It's so cool and interesting to see you discovering Rammstein these days!! 🔥 You should really listen to their new album out in 2022 it's absolutely amazing 🤘

A song that would make a great reaction is I'm not a Vampire (Revamped) from Falling in Reverse. There's the original version from 2011, but the revamp version from 2021 is insane and so different. Comparing both versions would make a great video :)

Yes, this is intense but I honestly think that they captured really well how it feels to be German. Like, I’m 22 and somehow I feel shame for my country’s history although I had nothing to do with it all obviously. I didn’t even experience the divide of Germany anymore. But we talk about it in school sooo much in order to make sure history doesn’t repeat itself. But it hits you hard especially since there are still quite a few Nazis here who have kept that “Gedankengut” as we say it (that integral notion of the Nazis)…. and Germany is now quite advanced and a big leader and such but sometimes you are truly torn between loving Germany and staying here and just wanting to leave

Almost all their videos are imaginative and excellent productions - Ich Will (studio) Mein Herz Brennt (Studio), Sonne (Studio), Mein Teil (Studio), Radio (Studio) and Auslander (Studio) then watch the 1st 4 LIVE along with Du Hast Live and Engel (Live) and maybe Feuer Frei - They are all different Enjoy!!! Plenty more where those come from as well

Love love love this band. They are SICK live. Best concert I've ever been to. Just so much going on and they nail it. Til's voice is amazing. And their mix of heavy shit with sorta a pop like beat behind it, industrial style metal, just hit's everything I love with music. So cool you did them. This isn't even close to my favourite song of theirs, but it hits good lol

I liked seeing you enjoying this! There's A LOT of Rammstein songs that i'm pretty sure you will like. I sugest you to heart the band Ghost. Pick any song, they're all great, bring to the channel, it will be a pleasure to watch

5:30 I think of "pop" as more of a format than a genre. Thats why you can mash up things like The Perfect Drug and Shake It Off and it still works.

Metal is probably the most versatile and flexible genre. You can find every genre of music in metal. If it's not naturally incorporated in some way, there's subgenres. Also, if you listen to metal, you're definitely reaching, cleansing, shaking up emotions that can't be reached with any other genre.

If you want more metal to listen to, every eventually has to do a reaction to Nightwish Ghost Love Score live at Wacken 2013, and the rest of that set once the Nightwish army has been summoned

As a German I don’t understand why nobody puts on the translation or has sum lyrics prepared.. for Rammsteins music it’s essential to really understand the lyrics. Would love to see more Rammstein Reactions!

As a not German, part of the fun and mystique of listening to Rammstein and reading the German lyrics is to wonder what they mean through the context of the music and tone of the sound, before the curiosity gets the better of you and you look up the translation and are then in for a surprise. That's how I went about it ever I listened to my first Rammstein song, Mein Tiel, so long ago, and with every song ever since. Proud owner of every album to date.

@@1Synner Good thing about Rammstein - or at least this song - that the lyrics even remain (or better) have some kind of poetic mystique also for a native speaker.

Rammstein is a band I fell in love with in 1997 after I saw the music video for Du Hast on MTV (insert obligitory "remember when MTV played music videos" comment here). They've gotten better as the years have gone on with their most recent album, Zeit, being one of the strongest in their discography. Check out the videos for Zeit, Zick Zack or Angst. Their older stuff is great, too. My favorite songs from Rammstein are Mein Teil and Ich Tu Dir Weh, two songs that are absolute headbangers. Just... if you're squeamish, don't ask what they're about.

Dude, I would *love* to see you look at more Rammstein!! They are absolutely phenomenal live, but are in general such an interesting band. Their texts and visuals can be crass, but are also very effective. This particular song is a reflection on conflicted feelings about coming from Germany, about how it's hard or even impossible to love it when it has been a place of so many harrowing things. Would love to see your reaction to their album "Mutter"! Oh, and another prolific German band (that's also phenomenal live) are die Ärzte, who are more humorous but equally great with both lyrics and visuals. Their most successful album is "JAZZ IST ANDERS", but my personal favorites are "Geräusch" and "13".

I did just see some lIve Concerts Clips from the USA a couple days ago from Sept. in TX and CA. The crowd can sing the lyrics in german too. Amazing ! Rammstein is a phenomenon. Like your reaction video ! :-D ;-) Greetz from Germany. Oh. And it is Rammstein - not steen ! ;-) And by the way. The singer is an educated pyrotechnician. You can see that on the stage shows! ;-)
