Hey Steve, unrelated to this vid, but thought i would tell you in your latest post. So i played today using your eureka moment method, with open stance but shoulders and clubhead square, the course was a 69 par track, i shot 72, playing off 9, nett 63, bloody hell pal it works, its so easy to get through the shot. Thank you, you may have changed my golf game forever, cheers mate

The main thing is why it works. That's because it is consistent with what Ben Crenshaw says and Tiger uses. By releasing the putter past his hands he puts it into it's own momentum. And when a player does that the blade has little to no propensity to twist. I see a lot of pros now using some form of this technique and I think Gary Player did too. What most people do not realize is that a human being is not capable of controlling blade angle. There is just too much going on with the shoulders, arms, body, hands, and etc. But a person can take themselves out of the putt by releasing the putter head (aka - swinging it). And when they do that, the blade angle does not change. I once saw Gary Player miss a very short pop putt. And a few holes later, he said on the tee, "I got a headache for about 15 minutes after missing that putt a few holes back". I guess the man was intense.

But it's not a piston? Because he's only putting the ball once? It's just straight back and through? You're about to have lots of people lifting the putter off the ground and dropping it on the way through if you keep showing that piston motion

The tempo to my putter swing is set to a metronome I keep in my bag. So it is a long flowing swing and I always hold the finish until the ball stops. First to control the swing you have to control the finish and following the ball to finish is valuable data about the pace and movement of the golf ball. Your brain captures that image and time of the event. I now have a practiced visual to put in my brain when preparing for a similar putt. So when I see the line and speed of the putt I can augment my decision on length of the stroke based upon my visual, When I played links course in Scotland in 2012 I Had to adopt the Senedecker pop stroke The greens there were fescue so there wasn't any break or effect on speed due to grain and the speed of the green was about a 10 at best, some courses a bit lower, which was considerably slower that was I used to in the States. Plus it was quite windy which made a tempo long flowing stroke difficult to execute, hence the Sned POP. All and all I putted the best I ever have in Scotland. Glad to see that you are back on site working.

another good video, any chance of you doing a vid on topping the ball and drills to stop you from doing it. this is something that I have started to do the ball goes straight but I do it of the tee and from the ground and with wedges.
