this was the sound of new york. i go to school in tribeca, when this this song plays it symbolizes seeing the freedom tower everytime i walked out of school because it was almost a routine finishing calc then listening to this song on my two minute walk to the train, man ill never forget it. its hard listening to other rappers now a days, pop brought so much symbolism into his music. if you know all his bars he kind of teaches you his swag, in a masculine voice that motivates you. he made music for the alpha males and the bad bitches all these other rappers dont sound good and have a depressing vibe or are just flat corny af. i didnt know pop but it really feels like i did because i know what he stood for and i can relate to him in our similar yet so different lives. if youre from new york, especially a new yorker born in Brooklyn his music just hits you differently. he brings melodies that we grew up listening to in his own new style. he made the music i was wishing for my whole life to hear, im so happy he decided to start rapping. im gonna miss this man forever like a lost brother, and only mention the positive things he did in his 20 years of being. Damn bro some nights it hits me HARD that he’s gone for good and I wasn’t planning on tonight being that night. What you said was so true. I used to listen to $uicide Boy$ all the time. Not so much vocals, but because the beats were so good and the intro was well developed. This is how I feel with Pop but his vocals match his beats. My biggest fear for this man is that his success will be forgotten. I truly feel that he was the next big thing. I’m not talking a Taylor Swift, I think he would have owned the rap and drill industry. I know he would have. It scares me so much that he won’t be part of my life in 5 years. It pains me to think that his music and legacy will fall away. I still don’t believe I’ve accepted it. His music and image is so lively. I struggle to come to terms with reality. I’ve never experienced a close death in my family but I feel like this is how it would be. To me it feels like he is alive because his music lives through his fans. I just can’t believe it.
