Sometimes the quality of the ingredients attribute to the price of the product. While the 3rd one may of been more expensive, the ingredients used are more higher quality than pop tarts.

Yeah. I have Celiac Disease and finding good gluten free food is really brand specific. The Glutino Toaster Pastries are really good and heating them definitely makes them better. I now have a friend who is gluten intolerant and I'm recommending these to him as well. Eating gluten free foods after eating gluten for most of your life, you can find yourself constantly tired. The Glutino Toaster Pastries are a great pick up. Especially when you're just looking for something to snack on that will hold you over until another meal.

I eat gluten free and I feel like I'm getting robbed when I "treat" myself to pre-made gluten free snacks. I only do it when I don't have time to make it myself.. It's messed up that these company's take advantage of people who can't have gluten. Alot of these products have ingredients like rice flour, potato starch, tapico starch, etc.. and there is no reason for the price to be so high. These ingredients aren't worth more than "regular" gluten ingredients. Annie's gluten free mac n cheese with rice pasta is $3 a box (in my location) but the regular box's with organic pasta (regularly priced at $2.29) go on sale for $1 a box just about every week. The gluten free ones never go on sale. The organic ingredients they use are worth more than the rice they use to make the gluten free pasta, yet they charge more for the g.f. box. It's sad that local stores and the manufacturers don't care about the people who can't have gluten, not everyone gluten free can afford these products. I can't afford it so I taught myself how to cook everything I like to eat.. From crackers to bread, muffins, and pasta from scratch to granola bars, cakes, pies, cookies etc.. Even pop tarts. I just can't afford $5 for 9 cookies or 5 pop tarts.. I'm hoping one day to open a local gluten free bakery that offers affordable prices in my area bc people who can't have gluten deserve to pay what others do.

I completely understand. I have Celiac Disease and will vomit for hours, get extremely weak, and dizzy with hot flashes. I end up still heaving even once there is nothing left on my stomach. Sorry I know that is a lot of detail but when I find foods I can eat it makes me so happy. I was diagnosed at 2 1/2 after months of being violently sick and in and out of hospitals. If only we knew that it just came down to eating a gluten free diet. Celiac and Gluten allergies were not common then so no one knew why I was getting sick. I still slip up sometimes and eat things I can't have which makes me extremely sick but I've gotten pretty good about being careful about what to eat

Thanks for the video. I have coeliac disease and so I have to follow a gluten free diet. I suddenly had a craving for Pop Tarts and found your video :) I hope Kellogg's start making a GF version, because they look the tastiest out of the three and I loved having them before I was diagnosed. It annoys me that GF products are so expensive though too, as manufacturers are making huge profits out of people who have no choice!

Nice review! Interesting that the Glutino one is the only one that has eggs in it. Also it's a shame that Kellogg's got rid of the whole grain pop tarts! Those were SO good and didn't have the high fructose corn syrup like the original ones they have. Guess it's cheaper to use the high fructose instead of the real sugar. It's practically in everything people buy these days. 😏 Never mind the bad after effects they leave you with by including high fructose. Have you guys had any luck in finding those whole grain pop tarts near you? So far, I've only been able to find them at Big lots. :(
@tortellini67938 жыл бұрын
There is really no indisputable evidence that high fructose is any worse for you than real sugar. " In retrospect, recent controversies arose when a scientific commentary was published suggesting a possible unique link between HFCS consumption and obesity. Since then, a broad scientific consensus has emerged that there are no metabolic or endocrine response differences between HFCS and sucrose related to obesity or any other adverse health outcome. This equivalence is not surprising given that both of these sugars contain approximately equal amounts of fructose and glucose, contain the same number of calories, possess the same level of sweetness, and are absorbed identically through the gastrointestinal tract. " advances.nutrition.org/content/4/2/236.full So many people avoid certain foods or traits in foods without educating themselves! You don't need to deprive yourself of food containing that ingredient. Your body will react and metabolize it the same way as sugar.
@glitterfairy33068 жыл бұрын
+tortellini Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but the facts are obvious. Any food label with HFCS in it, is a red flag for highly processed crap. And you trying to point out that cheap, artificial/synthetic sweeteners which help processed food companies boost their profits are the same as sugar. Then more power to you. 👌 Sugar may not be a great choice to binge on, but it is a better alternative than HFCS when consumed in moderation.
@tortellini67938 жыл бұрын
+Glitterfairy330 no I was pointing out facts backed by a peer-reviewed scientific journal. That is just one amongst many. Nothing is good to binge on but if you have 4 cookies made with real sugar and 4 cookies made with HFCS, your body will digest and metabolize them the same way. One will not be any more detrimental or nutritional to your health.
@glitterfairy33068 жыл бұрын
+tortellini That's all well and good, however I merely came on here to express my thoughts about my opinion. I did not go after your posts and force you to change your thoughts about how you want to handle YOUR food intake. If you feel confident about what you consume on a daily basis, weather it be products containing HFCS and what not, then more power to you! 👍 I personally along with many others have had bad experiences when dealing with HFCS vs sugar. There is a reason more and more companies are now coming out with products labeled "No high fructose corn syrup". Scientific tested or not, this all subjective based on how you deal with food. You have your opinion and I have mine.
@tortellini67938 жыл бұрын
I was just trying to help educate. It's only because I hate when people deprive themselves of certain things because of what the mainstream media tells you instead of researching and educating yourself. Luckily, everyone can eat what they want and has their own specific preferences. It would be boring if we were all the same. Cheers :)

I got a question about the Glutino vs Poptart. You say the Glutino is 5 per package, 1 Glutino being 210 Calories. So thats 5 servings at 210 calories, or 1 for 5 days. The Pop Tarts you said is 200 Calories per serving. Is that 200 per package/2 of them? Making them 100 Calories per pop tart? I need GF and have a wicked craving for Pop Tarts.
