We always use ‘Linear+’ setting for the lens, to reduce the wide angle distortion and keep the horizon level. Also keep image stabilisation on to remove all the little head wobbles. 👍🏼

Loving the content guys! This sort of stuff overlaps with my work, and my broadcasting technology degree... The frame rate/shutter speed needs to match the flicker rate of the lights. So in the UK (and in Europe and Japan) our power runs at 50Hz which is historically why our PAL TV's play at 25fps (or 50 interlaced). The tubes in the ceiling will also flicker at 50Hz. American power runs at 60Hz. Their NTSC TV's play at 30fps (60i) and their lights flicker at 60Hz too. Choose NTSC for filming things that flicker in multiples of 30 (60, 120). American light sources, or also stuff like computer monitors are generally 60Hz multiples. Choose PAL for filming stuff that has flicker at multiples of 25 (50, 100). Generally most UK and European lighting sources, TV screens, etc. Some light sources are better than others at controling the flicker. Generally, cheap fluorescent tubes and LED bulbs are the worst for creating flicker on cameras.

My go pro footage isn't very good either, but I set it on a mini tripod at different angles at corners n what not to get my best use outa it. Cheers mates! The rest of my footage I use a normal phone camera on my controller.

Use 25fps increments (25, 50, 100) to match mains frequency and the lights will stop flickering in your footage. Same goes for iPhone, go to camera settings and set it to PAL.

I think the footage is great. Keep it up chaps 😁

Yeah it could be the frame rate clashing with the flouro lights. I do think they are constantly flashing at a really high rate and we can't see it. Camera does though. You two calling each other special, and cue man-touching!

I would love to see the go pro on board during a race. Im not sure if it will mess with car telemetry, or even give a good shot, but it sounds cool

NTSC and PAL use different refresh rates, and different resolutions. Just look up some tips online guys, and hopefully a few people in the comments will give you some hints and tips ;)

Best camera is Dji Action 4/5 no problems with it

Doesn't matter how good they are, they're too heavy to use in your car and be competitive. Try using the cube cameras that are the size of dices, not the best quality picture, but at least you'll stay competitive.

Low light conditions really decrease the quality with action cameras. If I film outside in bright sunshine my footage looks great. Inside....my footage looks "grainy" and sometime I experience the flickering. I thought buying a quality action camera (DJI) would provide me with excellent quality footage. I quickly learned this isn't always the case. My old hand held camera does a better job inside. Good luck guys. :)

The lights are flashing at 50hz, presumably the camera needs to be on 50fps or 2fps perhaps or you will get a dark frame every now and then. It looks like you were set to 60. Not by coincidence PAL is 50hz and NTSC is 60hz because they match the mains frequency of the countries they are used in. I have a gopro3b and I hate it, they make them obsolete via software when they bring a new one out. Or they used to anyway.

Hi guys. I use the Lapmonitor system like you guys do. But there was a ghost mode i see in your videos. But mine doesnt have that. Does yours still have that option or has it been taken out in an update or something? Now i make it 6min races which works great but that ghost whould be fun also. kzbin.info/www/bejne/apKqiqZ8lM9njLssi=-QGQIj4pwt4E9YJY
