It’s not completely pop. Take a listen to blue and all other songs besides scary love, void, and stuck with me. They keep the same gloomy vibe and aesthetic. If they are your favorite then you wouldn’t feel that way

It’s actually amazing. Don’t get stuck in one sound. Sound evolves and that’s the beauty of music. Especially with them, they still keep the same gloomy feel and aesthetic. They’re very consistent with putting great content out .

Hm... I think it was maybe more so that they've always liked pop but with the stuff Jesse's been through the music he wrote inherently came out darker and thus the fans of alternative music gravitated towards that more, which is the unintentional part, I guess? Because even their new album still has their sound and vibe, it's just a bit more positive. But I don't think he could write the music he did if it didn't come out of true experience and how he felt, if that makes any sense? It would just be hard to force that, to me at least.
