People who really pay attention to dancehall, the early adopters of new dancehall music on the ground, always knew Popcaan was going to be the frontrunner for Dancehall one day! potentially be the king. Kartel said and the Gaza fans knew from early. He was the best artist in the group as a young artist. Yes, there were good artists in Gaza - better lyricists and singers but Popcaan had the right balance more than anybody else and he was consistent with making good songs. he had that over the rest of the gaza artists.
