On a flight home from Las Vegas my daughter dumped a whole bag of m&m’s from m&m world. I picked up every single one (that’s a shit ton of m&m’s) and I might have cried about it cause that was a $20 bag of m&m’s but not because I was embarrassed. Clean up the popcorn as best you can and move on. Report the FA if they were rude. I can’t believe the big deal they made of this!

Popcorn is a choking hazard and should not be given to children under age 4. She posted a picture of a very large bag of popcorn, so it’s hard to tell how big the mess was. In any case she should clean up after her kids. If she needed help when it happened she could have asked for assistance, probably would not have been so dramatic.

I don’t believe for a second the flight attendant acted in the way Sydney described. Her husband is (seemingly) calling for her to be fired- how is that acceptable!? They are acting so entitled it’s really sad to see. I couldn’t disagree more with the girls opinion on the story. Moms are still responsible for cleaning up their kids messes. If I, an adult, accidentally dropped a bag of popcorn on the floor OF COURSE I would clean it up! Same goes for kids. I understand it’s hard to travel with children but you still are choosing to do so, alone, with two young kids. The family could’ve handled the matter privately. They look so tacky. But all the James family seem to have the same entitlement about them so it’s not surprising. Not to mention Sydney should probably know popcorn is a HUGE health hazard for kids under six.

As someone that has worked in the restaurant industry for 10+ years, I literally COULD NOT EVEN IMAGINE asking a pregnant woman to get on the ground to pick up food, a spilled drink, etc. It would be one thing if I cleaned it up once and the mother allowed her children to keep tossing it around or didn’t take the popcorn away. Just because flight attendants aren’t getting tipped, doesn’t mean they can be decent people. They work in the service industry too. It’s a bad look from a brand standpoint.

I do think it’s a parents responsibility to clean up after their children. Planes are public spaces and everyone is responsible for respecting the space they’re sharing. Also, I don’t think planes are cleaned after every flight unless a major accident happens, like if someone vomited, there is a reason they go up and down the aisle with garbage bags asking everyone to clean up after themselves and put their garbage away. Slash during COVID they were handing out antibacterial wipes so everyone could clean their own seats and trays, a cleaning crew wasn’t even going in during those times. I understand that she was perhaps overwhelmed in the moment but it’s really out of touch for them to take it this big over popcorn cleanup. I think the average person would just handle it and move on

It is so hard to travel with children, pregnant or not. You literally leave your dignity at the door. We should all be helping each other. But honestly, hard pass. I would do my best and then leave the rest for the crew. They are being paid to work on the plane. People can say it's a public space, and it is but it is also they are in the customer service business. We pay money to a company to be on that airline.

I totally agree with Jackie on popcorngate. I have two kids and am pregnant with a third. If my kids make a mess in public, I do feel responsible to clean it up as best I can and I always will try. That being said, kind strangers have very often stepped in lately to help pick things up for me as it’s clearly getting hard for me to get up and down 😅 As they say, WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY! Where are the kindly bystanders who could’ve offered to help? A decent service industry worker (I used to be one of these too!) would never ask this of a pregnant woman.

I feel like if my baby spilled what I imagine was a large amount of popcorn my instinct would be to start cleaning it up myself and maybe ask a flight attendant for a bag or broom or something if I needed it. HOWEVER if I was someone observing (fellow passenger or flight attendant) and saw someone on their hands and knees picking up a bunch of popcorn my instinct would be to at least OFFER help. It doesn’t sound like it was 3 little pieces of popcorn, sounds like it was a lot.

I was a server waiting on a family of 4. Kid had a crazy sunburn and threw up all over the dining room floor (carpet). The family watched me scrub their kids vomit on my hands and knees and then didn’t tip 🙂 I don’t believe cleaning up after someone elses kids should be included in most services especially when the parent is present. I can’t tell you how many horrendous experiences I’ve had with parents/children.

I’ve literally found the most disgusting things on planes. They’ve stopped sanitizing as heavily as they did during COVID. You’re paying for a service - for a lot of money. Kids are kids. The hair loss is likely Telogen Effluvium due to weight loss. Unfortunately you just have to get through the cycle of shedding (usually lasts up to 6 Months). The vitamins do not stop the shed but certainly help with regrowth after the shed is complete.

I think some context for the Frank performance that is necessary to add is that his little brother died in 2020 and he has been really struggling with that. He mentioned briefly during the performance that Coachella was their thing they did together and that he was only headlining for him (as frank is not a fan of Coachella/performing in general)! I really feel like he just had a lot of anxiety/mental health struggles that led to him changing everything last second. I was a flight attendant for Mesa airlines which operated United Xpress I worked on the exact plane that you’re talking about and especially since Covid a cleaning crew comes on every single flight and cleans up the mess also I can‘t imagine the shit she’s going to get at work because that bc is absolutely not in Uniteds rules and not in any regional airlines rules to treat a pregnant woman like that it is absolutely the flight attendants job or more specifically the cleaning crew job if the flight attendant really didn’t want to to pick up that mess also popcorn is not a hazard also the flight attendant definitely just blamed the captain and did not tell the captain at all what was happening just so she had didn’t have to clean it up

Popcorn gate: As someone who has worked in hospitality all of my life, and transitioned into becoming a full time nanny during the pandemic as my work closed this is beyond messed up on the flight attendants part. It is so hard doing anything with kids in public, you need activities and food, and bathroom breaks and diaper changes, etc. I’m sure the mom is already stressed out, and worried about judgement. IMO it’s the flight attendants job to clean up the cabin, I’m sure they have a small vacuum and broom w/ closed dust pan (movie theatre style). It’s not an efficient to clean up popcorn, with a bag and tissue! As well if the Mom was rude, well that’s too bad but this is your job, you picked it and choose to work in the service industry, everyone deserves respect but you will have some customers who are more gracious than others. It is incredibly rude to demand this of a Mom, pregnant or not traveling with kids. Yes parents/nannies/caregivers are always and should clean up after their children and we’ve all seen entitled ppl who don’t or won’t. But the flight attendants could have asked and said I’ll help you, and if the Mom said no or I can’t then just understood and moved on. Super rude to demand this of someone when it’s your job to do so, sorry not sorry! There are also so many rude flight attendants these days, so you can tell by the flight attendant demanding this she was some sort of Karen.

But you can choose your reaction to situations and it’s the idea that the flight attendant chose not to extend grace and compassion to a pregnant mom with 2 kids is what is upsetting. Everyone always says “you never know what someone is going through” so the idea that the flight attendant should have addressed this issue with a little compassion really shouldn’t be so controversial.

Rachael's team was very misleading they made it seem like she was going into an inpatient program for mental health issues which is not the case. Yes a wellness retreat and somewhere like Miraval is wonderful for your mental health and mental state but not a mental health facility and her team used that to get a sense of she is really struggling. Which she may be but they were misleading with how they worded her "vacation" at a wellness facility.

about hair loss: A few years ago I lost about 40 lbs. I have always had the thickest hair ever. Way more than any of my friends. After my weight loss it all fell out and I had to get extensions. Since then it has grown back, but I am eating much better now and recently had a baby... so there's one solution! It will come back. Hang in there, maybe try extensions until then.

Claudia: Hair loss is SO COMMON when people lose weight! Don’t worry too much about it! My S/O lost a bunch of weight in a short time and his hair thinned dramatically but has since stabilized now that he’s been at his current weight for a while… if you hadn’t lost weight and had hair loss I’d say worry about your thyroid but don’t let the internet scare you :)

I've been following Sydney Bass for years on social media and this is a woman who has been thru so much with her kids and(past) high risk pregnancies, and is seemingly so sweet, who literally wouldn't hurt a fly. I'm going to pass with the hate for her and instead look at your comments. The Flight attendant certainly could have been more helpful and my God no one around even offered to help her? I would love to see some of you try to bend your non pregnant bodies (in those seats where you can barely move anyway), during a flight and clean up a bag of popcorn..I mean what?...you're hypocrites..come for me I dont care...
