Ah, memories. I used to hear that on the radio while I was getting ready for school. Such a long time ago.

Thanks again for posting this one, I love the original and the Messer Chups version. But I think the Tom Conlon version is the best!

Do I get a Fender Jazzmaster II? My only current guitar is dual humbucker Floyd Rose equipped, and a lot of these songs sound off on it. P.S. I'm also a terrible player :)

All I can say is that my Jazzmaster inspires me to play these songs. You have to figure out if one can do the same for you.

@@userofthetube2701 I'm very inspired to play these, songs, I also paid for full access on Patreon. But my guitar itself puts me off. Jazzmasters 2nd hand are very scarce in my region, I wonder if to get a Fender Player II Jazzmaster or look for Squier Jazzmaster like Classic Vibes 60s or 40th anniversary. By the way do you feel that the top controls on the Jazzmaster are deal breaker? Otherwise I can get a Vintage V65 Reissued for a good price.

@Ben-ld1qi I think there are a couple of things to look for when you get a Jazzmaster for playing surf. First of all you want the sound, so preferably, it will have something close to original Jazzmaster pickups. Many modernized versions exist with alternate pickups that might be less suited for what you want. Second you want a good tremolo system as that is key to that unique surf sound. Many Jazzmasters exist with different bridges, but I would go for the original as that is just so well suited to this style of playing. I don't really have an opinion on the top controls. I'm sure it has its uses, but most Jazzmaster players seem to mostly ignore them and just use the regular channel. For playing surf I'd say you really don't need the top controls. Other than that, you just need to find the guitar that makes you want to play more. Hope that helps and good luck.
