Batman Returns, literally! Can't wait to see what he does with the role again. If we're going to see him suited up, I hope it's inspired at least in part, by the Kingdom Come armor. Within one year or so, we're going to have Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, and Robert Pattinson all playing Batman at the same time. We even have Iain Glen if you want to count him too. Honestly, this is a dream come true for me. It isn't exactly what I wanted, but it's damn near close. I'm very much looking forward to Matt Reeve's The Batman with Pattinson, but I definitely need to see more Batfleck (here's to hoping we get that HBO Max Batman show after the Snyder Cut). Michael Keaton returning is just icing on the cake.

Only 25% of The Batman was filmed before the production had to shut down. There’s a lot of of the film left to finish.

Agree with DC oversaturation of the same characters. Even in animated movies. I´m not complaining for the new Superman movie. If anything that´s a good step. Pre the animated continuity everything was BATMAN...Justice League...Superman. After all these years/movies there have been only 2 Green Lantern ones, 2 Wonder Woman ones, 2 Suicide Squad ones, 2 Teen Titans ones (the second shared with the JL), 2 Justice League Dark ones (the second tied with the rest of the DC universe), 1 Flash one and 1 Aquaman one; and even those can´t count as solo movies-the first dealt with a new DC universe and the other tied with the Justice League. And while written 12 movies out of the same characters might sound enough or more than enough not so much when we´re talking about 38 movies at this point.

Ive got to push back on something you said Johnny about "Superman not being an interesting personality". I would sincerely recommend you read Superman Birthright. It made go from having a fond nostalgic feeling toward the ole Boy Scout of the Reeve films to LOVING the character! If you get the chance check it out!

Jonny Quasto doesn’t read comics and really follow all of the animated series and shows. He is the most casual fan of the group which isn’t bad. Birthright is fantastic. I usually just recommend Action Comics #775 since it is a single issue that explains everything someone needs to know about Superman where it’s more palatable for people who don’t read comics.

Yup. It was one of the reasons Affleck signed on. He knew he could fulfill his dream of portraying the character. Specifically an Frank Miller inspired interpretation which he adored. But at the same time he wouldn't be expected to be the RDJ for the franchise and be obligated to play the same role and pass up other opportunities for years and years when he had his own projects he wanted to do. He loved Snyder's pitch and the poetic nature of the ultimate sacrifice from Bruce Wayne repaying Clark for his own sacrifice in BVS and helping him regain his senses about the state of man and how they are still good. Alas, Geoff John's, WB and Whedon ruined all that and in fact the script got leaked early on from John's camp. Rumor has it that some at Marvel got a glimpse of it and used some points as inspiration. It was awfully off how familiar things seemed in their later films

Snyder has said multiple times that Batman would have died in JL Part 2 and then Carrie Kelley would have been introduced. Since he only had his 5 film plan, Affleck would only have gotten one solo film fighting Deathstroke who is hired by Lex to go after Batman. They would have needed to do something like the upcoming Reeves trilogy with Pattinson where it’s not connected after JL Part 2 since Dick in Snyder’s mind was the dead Robin. WB wasn’t for that which is why Chris McKay was developing a Nightwing movie. Introducing Dick officially in Nightwing and having him become the new Batman after Bruce’s death makes sense to continue the DCEU. That was not Snyder’s plan though since he had a closed off 5 film plan.

A few days ago a goof on a different KZbin channel asked how can Keaton be in the MCU and DCEU??? Actors rarely sign exclusive contracts to one studio. Keaton may have a contract to play a particular character but he isn't exclusive to Disney alone.

That Ryan Reynolds rumor was started by Grace Randolph who is a joke and that is not happening either. A lot of money would have to be thrown at Reynolds on top of the money being spent to finish the Snyder Cut where it’s more than $30 million. WB isn’t going to just keep pumping money into a version of a movie that has most of its post-production left where it’s not doing reshoots either especially in this climate.

But this is the kind of story I'm interested in telling now.” In response to a joke by the interviewer saying he could play an even older Batman, Affleck made this joke. “Maybe a very old Batman. With a walker." Affleck is done unless you don’t find him credible where he is in a much better place for his health and in a good relationship. As stated in the NYT interview, a friend said he would drink himself to death if he did that solo film with writing and directing. He was in a very bad place while being part of BVS, JL, and writing that film with directing it.

It’s weird that Adam said Arrow pretends to be adult while liking Titans since that show also pretends to be adult. The swearing and violence is very try hard. Stargirl has the right tone for the character and has the right tone for the JSA which makes sense with Johns as the show runner. Adam doesn’t seem to be a big JSA fan. Honestly Titans should have that tone and it is more like 13 Reasons Why with the angst and Riverdale. It’s way too melodramatic.

Stargirl is great and is way better than CW shows and is definitely way better than Titans. The second season of Titans ended up being pretty terrible.

Yeah, it’s pretty easily better than the CW shows which aren’t good at all and Titans has never been good. The second season was worse than the first season and that finale structure with taking out Deathstroke in the first 10 minuets was awful.

Leman Russ Let’s see, I praised Stargirl. I praised Doom Patrol and properly credited Jett from Batman-on-Film who actually knew Keaton would be back first. It’s fine if you like Titans, but no one ever has a good argument when it comes to the bad acting and subpar writing of that show. The season 2 finale is a terrible finale. Deathstroke as the main villain should have been the final fight, not the first 10 minutes with all of the Titans except Dick and later Rose just sitting in the car. I won’t apologize for having standards.

The idea that Roxy isn’t as into Keaton as Batman because of it not being her time doesn’t make sense. I was born the same year as her and I know people a few years younger than me where Keaton was the man along with Kevin Conroy from the animated series when we were growing up. Roxy just seems more bitter than excited about the news and I know Affleck was her Batman since she loves Affleck, but there was a serious lack of enthusiasm.

I was born in 1990 and I'm not all that excited for Keaton either. TBH he was simply an okay Batman for the time as he was the first in the darker realm post West. Dude is mad short and goofy. Hardly an intimidating force of nature. Batman also doesn't wear glasses. It's just weird. Then there's the fact that so many criticize other versions of Batman killing where Keaton happily murdered 20+ individuals throughout his run. I'd be more excited for Kilmer, Clooney or Affleck than Keaton. At least that way they'd have a chance to be redeemed for poor reception in the past

JRaye Bruce wearing glasses is fine and actually helped sell the secret identity more along with just doing research. He didn’t wear glasses while fighting criminals so that is a nitpick. Batman doesn’t need to be big and it is more unrealistic if he was since it makes it more obvious that Bruce is Batman to the public. You shoot a movie to make him look intimidating with the size which isn’t difficult. Martial artists don’t need to be huge to be great either. Being shorter and not as muscular makes more sense for the character especially with a frame that is more lean like the Neal Adams version. Bruce Lee was 5’7’’ and plenty of people are great fighters at 5’9” which is Keaton’s actual height. I don’t like Conor McGregor as a person, but he is 5’9” and great at what he does. You would not be more excited for those actors and you really just want Affleck back. At least admit it. It’s also revisionist history with Kilmer in the role since Forever was much more successful than Returns where Returns box office wise made a lot less than Batman 89. That was a big reason why WB was justified in getting rid of Burton with the box office drop. Kilmer was thought of as a good Batman when Forever came out and Kilmer with throat cancer simply couldn’t do that now. He has had a lot of health problems. It’s why he probably has a small role in Top Gun: Maverick and his character most likely dies. Holding the killing against Keaton which I acknowledge happened with his Batman smiling as he did it is being defensive. No one would want Clooney again who wasn’t a terrible Bruce, but he was a terrible Batman. Affleck has said he is done especially with coming out of rehab and doing The Way Back where he is in a much better place. Just let it go.

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of the Directors and actors working on DC movies saying over and over again in interviews...Its not really a sequel, its a very different movie, its u know its own thing so not really a sequel at all apart from having the same characters and actors back....i mean for shit sake, if it has the same cast, if it has the same heroes established in the first movie and the same actor playing the part in the same world its a sequel..i don't get why these people involved in these movies think the word sequel is just some disgusting vile word that makes people think badly of a project, when did this happen?...sorry for rant but they keep on saying it, especially with Wonder Woman 84.. 🥵

Harley Quinn has been oversaturated for years at this point and it gets worse and worse. The new comic that was announced is because the last Harleen series did so well from the same creator. Deadpool had the same problem 4 years ago with 7 Deadpool related comics which was insane. Harley has become DC’s Deadpool with being so over saturated.

The Watchmen finale was still weak and far too rushed where it should have been 10 episodes, not 9 since Looking Glass being gone for 3 episodes was not a good idea.

Popcorn Talk Part of the hypothetical ninth episode should have been Looking Glass getting to that location instead of just appearing there. You show, don’t tell and then there was the random Lube Man loose end where you find out what that was online with the in universe documents. It was also a mistake to never show Nite Owl with him just being referenced as being locked up. The ending wasn’t a Watchmen type ending and it was too neatly tied up with a bow. It still doesn’t make sense that Doctor Manhattan just didn’t wipe out the entire Kavalry with a snap of his fingers or he could have went giant size and been fine. He wasn’t weakened at that point so there were missteps along with Ozymandias apparently not changing his password which didn’t make much sense either.

Many people love the prequels and consider ROTS really good. I would rather watch ROTS than any of the Disney era Star Wars films. I can acknowledge Hayden’s bad acting and dialogue from other cast members, but it’s a better movie start to finish than the Disney era films. TFA is lazy and doesn’t work with being back to the status quo, the first half of Rogue One is dull, TLJ has a lot of bad material in it that goes nowhere, TROS is a complete mess, and Solo is dull with a lead that isn’t convincing as Han.

All of her writing-credits are horrible: Shut in, Unforgettable, Bumblebee and BoP. At least after the BoP-Disaster, WB should know better. Christ... BOP is a fun movie and and it gets better with every new viewing. The problem with some of you guys is that you seem to think box office equals quality, and that's just not the case. There are thousands of examples that prove otherwise. Most people that actually went and SAW this movie, liked it. And just because some middle aged fans don't like a movie for "non-accurate comic book issues" doesn't make that movie bad.

Martín N81 I did see it and I didn’t like it. No one brought up the box office. Thematically, it’s a mess where Harley is dumped by the Joker so she isn’t emancipated. Blowing up Ace Chemicals isn’t revenge. She should have been the one to dump Joker. Then once it’s known that she has split from Joker, Batman goes after her especially since she was an accomplice to killing Robin from Suicide Squad which is never brought up. The police would be going after her and wouldn’t suddenly cause Renee to act once Ace Chemicals blows up. I have a lot of issues with the film with its writing and editing. Fake Cassandra Cain in the movie set representation backwards since her arc is about learning to communicate after being a mute assassin. It’s not good.

Star Girl is pretty bad.. bad in that its very CW.. and all the CW shows are horrible. lol I agree with Adam 100%. Cavill back as Superman would be the best news of the year. Multiple solo movies and even more cameos... man that would rock. The animated movie... ugh... the art looks horrible!! And back with the red underpants? Ugh, another step back. The DCAU should have stayed. Its unfortunate that we didn't get to see more of Superman in the Reborn suit. That suit is the all time best. Watchmen doesn't need a Season 2. I hope it doesn't get one. As a miniseries its perfect. If they go into a Season 2 I feel it will ruin the show. Keaton back as Batman is WAY more exciting than The Batman. Sorry Rox, but Keaton is more of a draw for me.

I’m not a fan of the art direction, but it can’t be any worse than the majority of the bad New 52 inspired movies. It actually looks like a real Superman movie influenced by American Alien and Birthright. It’s not a step back to bring them back. You once again ignore The 100 and Supernatural which are good CW shows. Stargirl is really good and better than every CW super hero show admittedly isn’t a high bar to clear. It’s still much better than Titans and the only weak episode of Stargirl has been episode 4.
