It’s because of his wide range. Him and Gerard Way’s voices are just nowhere near average. It makes it almost impossible to sing their songs. Brendon’s range is almost 3x the size it should be. He has almost 5 octaves. The average male has 2. I have 4 and his songs are still hard!

Now the things he actually did were, back in 2011 when he was 24 he did a r*pe joke in the lines "after this show I'm gonna f*ck you, I don't care if you want it or not because I really wanted to" but first, this is the same man who in the same tour (Vices & Virtues one) took of his shirt and pants and started to sing in underwear so I don't know what to expect of that same person, second he was drunk and third the concert was 18+ only. He was also called racist for doing one comment in the same tour on how he wants to be black to wear white clothes without making fun of, and people accused of being racist but black people weren't offended by it, it was a pretty weird comment kinda complimenting black culture but people overexaggerated about it and yet again, this was 2011. He also quoted some people and songs that said slurs like the n-word and the t-slur in vines, old streams and even interviews but he quickly apologized about that and he decided to remove slurs from his vocabulary. And people has taken stuff like the vines and streams out of context to do their points. He has apologized for most of these things and multiple times, there are a lot videos of him apologizing for one thing or another and he has learned from those past mistakes.
