I love his comment - "You can criticize a country's govt. . . . but not a people," as a way of avoiding being anti-Palestinian or anti-Jewish. He also exhorts us not to be "hard-hearted" and "indifferent" like Pontius Pilate and try to wash our hands of the wrongs we see happening. This is a pope of exemplary courage and caring!
@mkn29297 ай бұрын
I don't think Pontius Pilate is the best example of the point. Pilate saw no guilt in Jesus, but the Jews insisted so he made them make the choice. Of course this was God's Will being carried out as the Jews accepted having Christs blood not only on their hands but their childrens as well. Pilate could have done more but it wasn't Gods Will, as Jesus said, if His Father wanted to exact justice He could send legions of Angels to defend Him. I note well that when Jesus told him he was sent to testify to the truth, Pilates question: "What is truth?" Jesus did not say a word and did not answer his question. The silence is 'deafening'. As St. Paul preached so forcefully: "God is not mocked." Amen. +

It is a delicate balance and he does it well. He also comes across as human and compassionate, not judgmental or authoritarian. Please know the church accepts all people. Anyone can walk into church. But don’t ask for approval on the way you live life? If you think you are living life how you should, why seek approval unless you are doing something wrong? Ppl don’t go to church to seek approval. When you go to mass, while it is a celebration you are walking at calvary. You are telling the Lord your sins - you are repenting, and ready to be made a anew by receiving the Holy Eucharist where you receive the Holy Spirit. So now that you know you can go to mass what do ppl mean by “Church must accept all…like gay and abortion”. Sounds like seeking approval at all cost when the stance is “no same sex marriage” and “prolife”. But even when you aren’t these things, you can still go to church. The doors are never close. Even sinners go to church and that includes everyone. But to receive Holy communion you must receive the sacraments and confess your sins. Don’t expect to receive sacraments for marriage when you know God does not approve. But even when you sin, God loves you like a mother would love a child. God loves all, what is love? Love is staying quiet when you want to yell. Love is loving the other without possession. Love is being tempted by sin and not acting upon it. The church does so much for women who have gone through abortions, and regret or are scarred by it. So if something is so right, like abortion - why do some women become traumatized and seek shelter in “women’s houses”? God does not leave anyone behind, ppl leave God behind. We hear to often “Walk with Christ”, when in reality Christ is dying to walk with you, while you are running away. So if you are gay, you are pro- abortion go to church with an open mind. Funny, when ppl blame the church for being closed minded. So walk what you preach and go with an open mind, listen to the Word. Keep the sabbath Holy, that is the first step, out of a bazillion things you have yet to know and learn.

Thank you for this interview. I realize Pope Francis is in a uniquely difficult situation; much has been said both about how progressive he is or how much more he really needs to be, but while he must continue to push hard to reform Catholicism, too quick of a shift from tradition would cause backlash from those within the church, some of whom are already questioning and opposing some of Francis's decisions, despite papal infallibility being a core dogma of the church. Here's hoping he continues to push for positive change in ways that lead to genuine reform for an institution that absolutely needs it.

The statement that "all ideologies are bad" is a sweeping generalization that may not hold true in all cases. Ideologies are systems of beliefs, values, and ideas that shape how individuals view the world and guide their actions. While some ideologies have been associated with negative outcomes, such as oppression, conflict, and discrimination, it is important to recognize that not all ideologies are inherently harmful. It is crucial to approach ideologies with a critical and nuanced perspective. While some ideologies may have led to harmful consequences when taken to extremes or implemented without regard for human rights and dignity, others have been instrumental in promoting positive social change, advocating for equality, and advancing human rights. Rather than painting all ideologies with the same brush, it is important to evaluate them on a case-by-case basis. It is essential to consider the context in which an ideology is applied, its impact on individuals and society, and whether it aligns with principles of justice, equality, and human rights. Healthy debate, critical thinking, and open dialogue are vital in assessing the merits and drawbacks of different ideologies. By engaging in respectful discussions, challenging assumptions, and promoting empathy and understanding, it is possible to navigate the complexities of ideologies and work towards a more inclusive and just society. 🤷♂️

@outoforbit00 We have people staying in power until their 90s is one of the reasons to blame. You would think that with a country of approximately 330 million people (the U.S) that there would be better representation than what we currently have, especially in 2024. We are failing the rest of the world at a place that was once revered to be a place to accomplish life changing discoveries, opportunities and innovation. I don't like to point fingers but what we currently have which in essence has existed for long enough are making things worse and not better. It's not going to take one person to fix it the world's problems but thousands if not millions which is definitely not an overnight process but will most likely take many, many years to accomplish and we keep kicking the can with not looking at the long term effects. It astounds me how people don't either think of these things or realize them, but one can hope for change.

You didn't hurt my feeling, brother, but please allow me to explain. The Catholic Church and the Pope are not perfect, and never will be. God uses imperfect people to accomplish his will. If you know the Bible, you know this is true. However, the Catholic Church is the only Church having authority to teach or act in Christ's name. Ordained Catholic clergy, including the Pope, are said "To act in persona christi", to represent Christ’s person. This is what God wanted. read Matt 16:18-19. Here, Jesus gave authority to Peter and all his successors. He did not give authority to anyone who picks up a Bible and reads it. This is why, since the Protestant revolution, we now have over 50,000 different churches who all claim to have the true interpretation of scriptures. And, it has become very confusion for some people. In my own personal life, I can honestly say I have never felt as close to following Christ as I have since I began devoutly following the teachings and precepts of the Catholic Church. And, I encourage all to do your own due diligence and try to understand what the Church teaches, why, and where it can be found in scripture. You won't be disappointed, and if you come home to the Church, you will feel closer to God and his son Jesus Christ than you could ever imagine. God Bless...

There's niceties and charitable motives in humans, sure. But inherent goodness is a lie from hell. Any endeavor at "goodness" is still sin-soaked through and through; our "righteousness" is filthy, like used rags (Isaiah 64) because no one is good, but God (see Mark 10). If man is inherently "good," what was the purpose of Calvary? Why would Jesus suffer, die, and be resurrected if people were good? If I'm not sick and dying--I don't need the Great Physician. If the world ain't dying--why would they need to be rescued? Jesus died for us all--for sin-soaked Mary, for the pope, for me and for you. For a guy in his position to be so cavalier and lazy with scripture is not only dangerous, but unloving.

JESUS says keep Sabbath holy. POPE says keep Sunday holy! “The Bible says remember that thou keep the Sabbath day. The Catholic Church says, 'NO!'. By my divine power, I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week. And, lo, the entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the holy Catholic Church." -Father Enright, American Sentinal, June 1893. 7th day Sabbath = (Exo.20:8-11) 1st day Sunday = (Mark 7:7) The WORD teaches 7th day is holy! The WORLD teaches 1st day is holy! WHO DO YOU 🫵 OBEY????

Classic doublethink .. He talks about ideology and dogma being the problem, then continues to promote the dogmas and doctrines of his archaic church. So basically as long as your ideologies and dogmas are Roman Catholic it's all good, if not, you're an evil heretic. Rome never changes.

It's crazy, it's almost like the leader of a religious institution is advocating for the teachings of the institution. I think you're missing the part where he talks about the goodness of the human heart and the hope that gives him for humanity's future; I certainly missed the part where he generalized non-Catholics as "evil heretics," which is actually in violation of Catholic teaching.

"do you have a some thing to say to hamas" ???she wouldnt dare
@darkhorse3817 ай бұрын
Yea if there's one thing Western media has trouble doing is condemning Hamas. It's the only thing they've done the last 7 months. And he would easily answer with "I think all parties should stop the war." But one reason she may have not asked is that they aren't the reason the war has gone on this long. Israel could have ended it on October by making a ceasefire deal that includes a hostage swap

You do realize Hamas is a terrorist organization right?!

@@darkhorse381why would Israel want a cease fire after hamas literally invaded and slaughtered 1300 people? Do you realize how dense that sounds
@vishalishahin80857 ай бұрын
What's going on in Gaza is NOT about Hamas. Israel has a laser sharp military that could have taken out Hamas...easily. This is about Ethic cleaning. They DESTROYED the entire infrastructure. That has nothing to do with Hamas. What a narrative people are buying. We've been gaslighted for years. Aren't we tired yet????? When do we connect the actual dots, instead of believing this stuff.
@BxIowaIrelandSwAg7 ай бұрын
@@darkhorse381 Actually, Hamas could end the war today by freeing the hostages and removing themselves from power, but you don't want to hear this.

@TheDbwillia Christ Jesus is sinless because he was born of the Holy Spirit. He did not inherit the sinful seed (mans seed - sperm) of Adam. Mary was not born of the Holy Spirit. Both her parents were human beings with a sinful nature just like your parents and my parents were. Apart from Christ Jesus we are all born inheriting the sin of Adam because the seed (sperm) from our father (earthly father) contained the sinful seed. Read your bible, the Apostle Paul was born a sinner, Peter was born a sinner, All the disciples were born sinners. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, King David all were born sinners. Mary was born a sinner. She says so herself when she calls God Jesus Christ her Savior. Only sinners need a Savior. Luke 1:47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. Jesus Christ is God (God the Son) the only one born without the sinful seed of Adam. Worshipping Mary is Idolatry. God hates Idolatry because only Jesus Christ is worthy of our praise and worship. Jesus Christ is the only mediator between God the Father and finite man. Praying to Mary is insulting to Christ Jesus. Jesus Christ is our only hope, Our Living hope, not Mary. 1 Timothy 2:5 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Read your bible and don't listen to and follow false teachers. Religion will save no one. Only knowing and believing (having faith) in Jesus Christ (the Living Word) will save a man's soul. Study, the answers are in the word (the bible). Jesus is the answer for the world today.

6:57 why he makes that face so uncomfortable when he gets asked about the priest who sexually abuse children in many cases same sex children ? Aren’t them the ones who’ thinks begin gay is a sin? And they do it in their own household and within their own congregation? For me it’s sick ! They must be in jail all of them . And the pope needs to me more active in those cases enough it’s enough
