Late to the party on this one but I work for chick fil a just to give you guys a little backstage knowledge. How we bread is by dipping the chicken filet in a milk wash and pressing the filet in the breading to make it thinner. From there its pressure fried in oil and goes from there. Chicken typically sits in the refrigerator for no more than a day and it's good for 4 days if it isn't used. But its always used in thst time. Butterflied by hand, and hand breaded. Oil is typically changed in our fryers every two weeks on a schedule I work the night shift I don't know how that works, that's done in the morning. Pickles we get in a five gallon bucket so your straight from the jar is right. If you guys have any fun questions Itd be my pleasure to answer.

Having worked as a cook at KFC these are my thoughts on those chicken patties. Mrs. Wolfe's description of the Chik-Fil-A breading being pressed into the chicken are reminiscent of the freezer-to-fryer products I cooked up, such as the popcorn chicken and the patties for the Doublicious. Popeye's patty, with the breading that was light and falling off indicates it was hand-breaded in-store. It comes off the chicken patty the same way the original and crispy breading do which are both breaded in-store.

My guess is they're trying to pussyfoot around the issue for as long as possible because they don't want either their competition to know what's in it, or more likely, the paying customer. There's quite an extended time frame where it can "be in the mail" so to speak...

Americans eat and drink about one-third of their calories away from home. Making calorie information available will help consumers make informed choices for themselves and their families. I'd agree though some of that is the nature of the two products; Chick-fil-A is "pure" fast food; few items and made to order. Popeyes is fried chicken(and there's definitely room for improvement for their restaurants) set up much more cafeteria style, ex: the mac-n-cheese coulda been made 5 minutes ago...or at 5 AM that morning! Sometimes the chicken is great...but you waited 20 minutes to get it cause they just made..other times its dry and tastes like its been under the infrared lamps for a few hours. Which for their chicken sandwiches, I wouldn't get Popeye's fries with as that's a total gamble & usually you lose! Again, partly with the cafeteria vs. fast food thing; fast food restaurants turn those over constantly & have a process generally with a dedicated person making french fries. Popeye's its 1 of like 15 sides and often gets sidelined. Chick-fil-A too is single owner franchised; that's HUGE...it puts people in charge who are passionate about the business; Popeye's I don't think have things nearly so restrictive i.e. that their restaurants are somebody's "baby." Bit maybe like difference between McDonald's in 1970 vs. them now.

Depends on how the salt is incorporated into the food. If it’s concentrated in the breading rather than infused throughout, it would taste saltier even if it has less salt.

I am absolutely in love with the spicy chicken sandwich from CFA. It’s perfect to me because the chicken is so juicy and delicious and all you need with it are the pickles. It’s such an amazingly simple sandwich, and every time I get it, it’s nice and hot and fresh. It just makes my soul so happy. This is where Popeyes falls flat. I don’t like mayo, so therefore, my chicken sandwich from Popeyes can’t be spicy. I don’t understand why they don’t just have two different chicken breast options. They have spicy and original chicken for all of their other menu options, so why can’t they do the same with their sandwich? The pickles are good, but it’s still disappointing that the chicken itself can’t be spicy. Popeyes also made me feel so heavy afterwards, which is kind of on par for Popeyes food in general. When I eat CFA, I’m full, but I don’t feel like I need to go to bed right afterwards. If I was really hungry, I could eat 2 CFA sandwiches, whereas with Popeyes, I can barely finish one and I already wanna take a nap afterwards. CFA will always have my heart, but Popeyes gets a gold star for effort.

An analogy between the two: KFC has original, done in a pressure fryer which softens the breading, like Chic fill A. They also have crispy done in a standard deep fryer. Here’s my 2¢ worth, I’ve NEVER been to either store EVER! But to me, I’ve got to go with Mrs Wolfe Pit. Just on sight ALONE! Popeyes was the clear winner for me. The Brioche was toasted better, it looked fresher, and just overall more inviting. The Chicken in the Chick-Fil-A sandwich while not “burnt,” was CLEARLY left in the fryer longer than (a) it should have been, and (b) it just didn’t look moist, tender, and/or juicy as you’d expect it to be. If offered to me side by side with NO wrapper, I would pick the Popeyes EVERY TIME! No question about it. And while I’m NOT a fan of pickles, the Popeyes pickles were FAR more pleasing to the eye than the ones on the Chick-Fil-A sandwich. I’d stake my 30+ years as a line cook on this statement. I’d even venture to say if there’s anyone else like me who’s never had a meal at EITHER store, we’re going to Popeyes because THAT sandwich would never be put on T.V. to entice us to go to Chick-Fil-A. It was fugly with a capital F! (John From California)

No to everyone. The grilled chicken, at least back in 2006 when I worked there, came in bags of this thick brown pastey marinade. The regular sandwiches came in a clearer, almost fleshy colored marinade. Definitely no pickle scent.

I started out working in fast food and did it for 6 years, and in my experience, the manager MIGHT answer the phone, listen to your comment, and then never give it a second thought after you hang up. Even if you call corporate, unless the employee does something crazy to the customer, nothing will ever happen.

Our Chick-Fil-A here in Waco, Tx, is excellent...always hot, juicy and always crispy. The sandwiches are only as good as the cook!

Popeyes screws up almost everything I bever order. Chick-fil-A is pretty much the golden standard of fast food service. Both sandwiches are good, but i prefer Chick-fil-A.

I noticed people saying that the Popeyes chicken sandwich had way more sodium so how could it possibly not taste as salty... well that’s what MSG does for you. MSG lets you cut down on the actual sodium level but still taste like salt. MSG is best used when mixed with salt (which is what chik-fil-a has done) MSG mixed with salt makes the salt that is there really pop. And that my friends, is why the chik-fil-a taste more salty when it is not

Diamondboysupply MSG is a salt that does not get included in the sodium portion of nutritional facts. It helps add flavor and depth of flavor to food without adding sodium, but in the end it is still chemically a salt just like sodium is a salt.

Diamondboysupply a salt is simply just when a base is chemically bonded to an acid. There are many different types of salts in the world. Saying msg isn’t salty is like saying distilled water isn’t watery. MSG IS a salt. It doesn’t taste like sodium but does help what sodium that is already there taste stronger. I’ve taken chemistry classes :)

Lol, Popeyes Chicken Sandwich is for the people that don't want to be seen eating at Chick-Fil-A because some people in that company support traditional Christian values(not the SJW mockery of Christianity plaguing society today). Both sandwiches are good(though I'd recommend getting the spicy chicken sandwich from Popeyes because you gotta go for the flavor if you're eating at that restaurant). On another note, I personally have always been just fine eating the spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's(and eating at Wendy's helps get kids adopted because of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption).

That's why I eat at chickfilet every chance I'm near one. The service is the best of any fast food, and the chicken is delicious! I will continue giving them business as long as they stay true to themselves! I hate sjw's! Every time I go there is a line in both sides of the drive thru, so business must be good. KFC on the other hand is absolute garbage. Dirty, empty or closed! Chicken taste like old greasy crap!

They are both good though haha you also must consider the customer service. gods children bring you a blessed sandwich quickly and with passion for happiness .in the other hand you go to some Popeyes and is not clean the service can be dreadful ,takes to long .etc. also have to take pricing into consideration. So do you want to find a gold tooth or a mixtape in your samich or do you want to pay an extra dollar and get chicken that was crafted by an angel?
