Your videos are always fun from a viewer’s perspective. I share your pain with regards the climate, you’re not alone! Hearing the siren brought back fond memories of Gothenburg, lost in the woods within minutes of the city. I am looking forward to the next instalment. All the very best brother!

Thanks Steve! It's both a blessing and a curse to have the place so close to the city center, 500 meters from the hospital ones is bound to hear sirens more often than not. On the other hand, that it's just a slight detour between work and home to get there makes up for it. Take care my friend!

Uncomplicated but tasty meal and you in a good mood, chatting along, equals great video. That's what I love! Good choice just doing what you feel happy with, and I must agree, getting a bit older, Swedish winters aren't as much fun as they used to be, and this winter has been dragging on far too long. Take care, have fun and I'm looking forward to the next video (which already seems to be a reality as I got interrupted with life when I started watching this one some weeks back).

Thanks so much! The worst part now isn't just that the winter is dragging on but when you get a few really nice spring days and then get smothered in a snow chaos. It's like "Look how nice things could be but instead you shall suffer..." Hope life is treating you good now and hence forth. Cheers!

I would love to get videos out more often but there's a certain lack of time and ideas for that matter. That is why I am so blessed with ideas in the comments. Ever so often they trigger the "Why-didn't-I-think-of-that?"-sensation. Cheers Andrew!

Great you see you out in the bush again. We had an unusually warm day here in Ontario, Canada 18c and we too had lunch & coffee in the sun on our tiny stove. Nice to see the mini in action, I have been wondering about it. Also looking forward to longer days and warmer temps. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures, it’s always a pleasure. Just so you know my wife calls them a froggy in the pond, I knew them as an egg in the hole, different cultures, same great taste!

I enjoy your content and I agree the bears may be on to something. As the days get longer, I have a vintage truck to rewire and some new trails to explore that I found during winter map examinations plus some camping planned for April. Wishing you the best, seasonal depression is real, and I hope you come out of it soon.

Very popular breakfast with Aussie truck drivers. Hand food. Here in Australia I wait for the summer to end, too hot for me. Fire bans etc not so good for outdoor escapes. Thank you for sharing. I got 2 of those Kasa cups for my Swedish M44. They sit good in the hand. Cheers👍

Good advice not forcing content for the sake of it. I am looking forward to the longer days also, I have some long one day hikes planned with friends and the longer evenings will allow us to complete them without head torches. I am also hoping to cook outside more in 2024 and the warmer weather will encourage that I am sure.

Hi from Malaysia. Great video and coffee chat👍Love those woods you frequent on your trips. Having moved here from the UK 18 years ago, I still miss those long summer evenings and seasons. Out here being fairly close to the Equator, it's always light around 6.45 a.m and dark at 7.30 p.m all year round with basically 2 seasons - 1 Hot and 2 Hot and very wet. We're now exiting season 2 and it's been ridiculously hot this last couple of weeks with temps in the high 30s and nudging 40+C during the day, so it's not always conducive to spending too much time outside during the hotter parts of the day, although I have a few shady spots near me in my local woods. I'm looking forward to watching your 2024 excursions whatever the content may hold and love your friendly relaxed style. Kep it up my friend . ATVB 🇲🇾👍

Redddddd! Good to see ya again. Im the same as you. I live for being out in nature, but this winter has been a weird one. I haven't camped much, haven't really made any cool projects, and have mainly just stayed at home shopping for steals on gear that I wanted. I have tons of people yelling at me yo get started making videos, but i just haven't been bothered to do any yet. Thought the warm weather was here, as spring flowers all popped out, and then all of a sudden the freeze set back in. Once warm weather hits again, I'll be out as much as possible...i hope

Thats a new one. I never heard of a popeye before. My camping plans for this year is to explore new areas and find new spots. This is just my third year wild camping as a serious hobby and i feel i need to move beyond the same old spots. Autumn and Winter are my favourite times because there are fewer people about but then again Ireland doesn't get as cold as Sweden.
@RedswedeOutdoors

I hope you get some good camps this year, in new or old locals. Is the rules on wild camping as harsh in North Ireland as in the UK? Cheers!
@paulkennedy5021
@paulkennedy5021 9 ай бұрын
@@RedswedeOutdoors Much the same rules. If you see a tree or a square metre of ground, someone owns it. What you depend on is lack of enforcement. I go to our forest parks which are managed by our ministry of agriculture and there is a policy of open access to the public. Rangers have seen me with a rucksack but have never bothered me. If I see a mess I try to clean it up as best I can.
@RedswedeOutdoors
@RedswedeOutdoors 9 ай бұрын
I feel that it's madness with that level of restriction at the same time I have to acknowledge how blessed I am with the right of public access. If every wild camper had your modus operandum and left the camp sites in better condition than they found it in maybe there would be a more relaxed approach to wild camping. Cheers!

@@RedswedeOutdoors England has a population density of 434 people per km² Scotland has 70 and they have a "right to roam". Ireland as a whole is 73 and the part where I live in Northern Ireland is 141. Sweden is 25. That's the issue. When camping I have been wakened by a farmer starting his tractor. On the plus side if you get into trouble you only have to shout and someone will look over the wall and ask you are you ok 😜
@RedswedeOutdoors
@RedswedeOutdoors 9 ай бұрын
Well, there's that of course. On the other hand the population tends to cluster up in an urban environment leaving the countryside somewhat less crowded, so unless every person decided to go camping at the same time I can't see that campers on their best behaviour should be a source of annoyance for anyone. (not accounting for the trend of being offended by anything or everything that seems to be all the rage in media...) This turned into a rant of a subject that really are none of my business. None the less, happy hiking Paul!

As a tip for all users of Trangia and other thin frying pans, by holding the pan in your hand and 'playing' with the flame, you will achieve an even frying surface and doneness. The flame always produces 'heat spots', which burn a small spot black and some do not brown or cook. An open fire is never even, but the flame is spotty and the wind affects it. It is accentuated the thinner the pan is.
@RedswedeOutdoors
@RedswedeOutdoors 2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the tip Erkki! That's an effective way if one does a proper mise en place. Outdoors I tend to occupy myself with other food prep meanwhile so I can lose concentration and get some 'uneveness' on my food. I've seen some heat diffusers that might solve the problem with flames vs thin pans. Unfortunately that's not 'a thing' in Sweden so I haven't tried it out myself but it supposedly solves much of the hot-spot problems for us lazy chefs. Cheers!

👍👍👍 Good Evening Red .. It's great seeing you again .. nice post .. and those Popeye's looked yummy 😊. Spring is almost with us .. nice. Together unfortunately, with the Endemic Swiss Tick Population 🙄. Here in our neck of the Northern Swiss Woods, they are rife with up to 50% infected with Lyme Disease 😳 .. which tends to put a damper on where one plonks oneself down. Warm weather forest walks with the Pooch result in the obligatory thorough inspection afterwards for, and removal of, the little critters .. and on oneself. Post, my friend, what and when you choose .. we will be there. Thanks for sharing and I am looking forward to the next. Until next time then, take care .. Tommy

The ticks are a bane for the outdoors for sure. Thankfully Lyme Disease is treatable with antibiotics, but a tick scan is better. Reminds that I'm due for a new shot for TBE, better to get that done before the little buggers wake up for real. Cheers Tommy!
