You know it's a beautiful thing to see and witness what true love is I only had the chance to experience seeing it through my grandparents but as I get older and I look around it becomes harder and harder to find a girl with morals and values that are 100% will know she will never cheat. I'm 25 now and I hope before it's too late I'd be able to find a woman with a similar mindset to how these women used to think

I'm 61 years old, and I will never get tired of listening to this beautiful song. What a great and melodious voice, and he had the mic far away. The lyrics, the tempo, the musical harmony. The variety of rythm and pitch; the breathing, vocalization and resonance! And the sax played by Grove Washington Jr. makes this song a musical gem. Sometimes you don't need to show your emotions when you sing with your heart and soul like Bill Withers does. And I say he does it because I am completely sure that he is singing with the ANGELS in HEAVEN! And how elegant these artists of the yesteryear dressed! They just had respect for their audience! THIS SONG WILL NEVER GET OLD...WE DO!!! RIP BROTHER BILL!.

I remember my mom singing this song to me, obviously upset, in her subaru station wagon. We stayed in there for a while after getting out of a worse situation. I was so young, I shouldn't remember... but this song has always stuck with me and represented hope for a better life, and the bond with my mother. Now that she is gone it certainly hits differently.

His singing looks effortless, and that is genuine talent, it's like someone just told him he had a concert and he was like "well, let's get this over with" .thinking of all contemporary so-called "artists" who have to make a show and they don't even possess half his talent

First of all, artists who make a show on stage do it to entertain you guys who watch it and critique it no matter what. It's either "oh too much effort" or "damn they could have put some effort into it". Step on stage. Do it once. See how difficult and nerve rattling it is to see 100s of people waiting to clap and critique your best ability behind your back. Then talk.

I got super lucky to grow up in the US with two parents who grew up in the 80s and listened to this song. When I was a little kid in the car listening to this, I could tell it was a representation of their love for each other. Now, older, I'm 31 and married, and this song resonates to me deeply. It now holds the meaning of my newer young love, but still holds the same meaning my parents once had.

First ever comment in KZbin, I broke down and cried on my birthday when I knew he was gone. Here's a person who lived on his own terms and helped us focus on what really mattered in life. I will hold your creative work forever in my heart including this defining song of my youth that takes me back to a hopeful place every time. Rest well, Mr. Withers...there will still be sunshine for humanity even after you have gone, because you left a part of your soul behind. Thank you.

Rest in peace legend. I remember hearing the news he passed and I sobbed (I was 14 at the time) but this song makes me appreciate how truly amazing his voice and music was

I see the crystal raindrops fall And the beauty of it all Is when the sun comes shining through To make those rainbows in my mind When I think of you sometime And I wanna spend some time with you Just the two of us We can make it if we try Just the two of us (Just the two of us) Just the two of us Building castles in the sky Just the two of us You and I We look for love, no time for tears Wasted water's all that is And it don't make no flowers grow Good things might come to those who wait Not for those who wait too late We gotta go for all we know Just the two of us We can make it if we try Just the two of us (Just the two of us) Just the two of us Building them castles in the sky Just the two of us You and I I hear the crystal raindrops fall On the window down the hall And it becomes the morning dew And darling when the morning comes And I see the morning sun I wanna be the one with you Just the two of us We can make it if we try Just the two of us (Just the two of us) Just the two of us Building big castles way on high Just the two of us You and I Just the two of us (We can make it, just the two of us) Let's get it together baby (yeah) (Just the two of us) Just the two of us (We can make it, just the two of us) (Just the two of us) (We can make it, just the two of us) (Just the two of us) (We can make it, just the two of us) (Just the two of us) (We can make it, just the two of us) (Just the two of us) (We can make it, just the two of us) (Just the two of us)

Oh, you sweet summer child. These TV shows were all 99% playback. The project "Lipps Inc." that producted the famous song "Funkytown" in 1980 is a word play based on that fact. It is just not worth going through a dozen sound checks for a "Top of the Pops" type of show.

@@adityaroy7616 I'd have to look into that show. On a quick search I found this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ipiUqquIipuGgKs which looks totally legit. As rule of thumb: If you have 3+ performances on a weekly network TV show, then that show basically HAS to go for playback on most of them, to pull it off. If you have ever been to a festival, you might have noticed a 30-60 min break between the artists for rewiring and sound checks. And it is really hard to do that mid show on a TV set, but not impossible.

@@diswantobevan4724 main comment and your response are a fucking awesome premise for a 70's/80's Era nostalgia feel based movie. The final scene is the kid finally gaining the courage to sing in his school talent show trying to win the girl over who he's been crushing on quietly, and this song is the song he decides to sing.
