I love all the different tribal elements you used with this doll , like the Ndebele pattern hints on her top ... when researching was there a specific tribe or element that stood out for you? Hi Arne. I'm from SA too. The top looks very Ndebele but the mask looks almost like another African country. The skin on the waist is very much Zulu. So glad to see another SA person on this channel :D

Hello guys. Also from SA🤗 I agree with you guys and I feel like the mask reminds me of the Masai because of the pattern and the staff but that concept of the mask is very prominent in Malawi and Zimbabwe etc and they are called zvigure and they usually dance at traditional ceremonies like funerals and so on, although it is not too common anymore due to Christianity.

That was my thought at first too but it’s important to remember that a lot of the traditions we associate with the Caribbean probably came from Africa initially and were brought over with the slave trade there.

Metal chopsticks would be a good alternative to the wooden kabob sticks because they are less likely to catch on fire and would help make the curls of the hair tighter.

heXtian uses a metal chopstick to do this, but he heats the chopstick first and uses it like a curling iron. I think it gives a smoother look.
