Just a quick note to thank you guys for offering the replacement motor and excellent video for the Popper roaster. I own two other roasters but the popper has been my go-to for small batches and I've developed a rapport with it that I can't seem to achieve with the other roasters. Being an electrical engineer, I thoroughly enjoyed following along in the video and doing the replacement. It reminded me of building Heathkits back in 1973. The video was excellently edited and made the job extremely easy, the attention to detail was superb. The added bonus of repositioning the thermostat to avoid premature cutoff eliminates the only shortcoming that has really bothered me over the years. Excellent customer service, keep up the good work!

Just completed the motor replacement. New motor seems much more powerful. I increased my batch size by 10g and got more bean movement than ever. So much so in fact, first crack was much later with similar wattage output. I decreased fan speed to precipitate first crack. Overall quite the improvement!

I'm having issues getting to first crack as well, but I'm just now seeing that you can turn down the fan. Has that continued to work for you? Before I saw your comment I went up something like 20 grams and was still getting a lot of movement.

What is the typical life of such motor ? Roasts/hours... or other unit
@SweetMariasCoffee Жыл бұрын
Great question. Our stress test units are beyond about 115 roasts so that's approximately 15 hours and they are still running strong. Here's a video showing what to expect at it ages. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWezp3x_pqqdpck

Good morning,I really interested with your machine, how can I made or buy that? Edo (Indonesia)

Hello. We don't ship to Indonesia but the Popper Roaster is based around an electric popcorn popper which works well for coffee roasting. Here's an example. kzbin.info/www/bejne/en6wlYKXmZtjrJI

Can the v2 motor handle larger batch sizes?
@SweetMariasCoffee5 ай бұрын
It depends on a variety of factors, but the units with replacement motors here can often roast 110g comfortably.

Mine works great... Should we leave the setting on low or high ? Also what is the cup size for beans. 1/2 cup, 3/4 cup, 1 cup
@SweetMariasCoffee4 ай бұрын
Start high and adjust as needed! For Popper, you can roast 85g to 100g. 85g is about 1/4 cup.

The motor was replaced successfully! I lost one of the screws under the rubber foot pad. What is the screw type and size under the foot pad?

Congrats on the motor replacement! They appear to be #4 x 3/8" metal screws.

Hey Tom my popper isn’t roasting? My brother swapped out the motor and it’s not roasting but just spinning the coffee and just heating it up? My thermocouple ripped as well when I bought it from your store second what is the problem and why is popper not roasting?

Hello. Sorry to hear you are having trouble with the Popper. Please email us at info@sweetmarias.com and we'll help you out.

I noticed what appears to be black carbon brush residue expelled from the motor. Some of this probably gets on beans while roasting. Do you know if the brushes are a non-toxic formulation? In my experience as an electrical engineer, brush formulations can include lead for conductive/lubricating properties.
@SweetMariasCoffee Жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking. We aren't sure what material the brushes are made of. The Popper's parts have origins from hot air popcorn poppers which are also food-safe.
