I'm 51 years old and this video just made me break into the windmill! I've been in the hospital now for 3 weeks and I'm starting to get some feeling back in my legs the doctors say with some Rehabilitation I should be able to walk in 6 to 8 months right now the only difficult thing is trying to get around with this colostomy bag

Pop and Taco was my cousin's teacher in long beach .. the garbage down to the driveway was filled with students. I was visiting my cousin that weekend in 1982. Watching it all. I had no idea I was in the presence of a legendary dancer who help MJ do the moon walk Now can anyone confirm the talk that pop and Taco learned the moon walk from turbo /boogaloo shrimp?

SHRIMP INFLUENCED ME AN MY WHOLE CREW BACC IN THE 80'S!! I MEAN WE WOULD PAY TO SEE THE MOVIE, AN WE WOULD STAY IN THE THEATRE AN WATCH BREAKIN LIKE 5 TIMES A DAY, TRYIN TO LEARN SOME MOVES!! THOSE WERE THE BEST TIMES AS A YOUNG KID THAT GREW UP WITH AN IN HIP HOP FROM THE START, I FEEL SO HONORED TO BE STILL HIP HOPPIN TO THIS DAY!! I JUST ASK THAT YOU YOUNG KIDS UP YA GAME WITH THE MUSIC, CUZ BACC THEN EVERY RAP SONG THAT WAS MADE, WHATEVER COAST IT WAS FROM, IT HAD REAL CONTENT, MEANING, AN SUBSTANCE, AN TODAY YOU KIDS ARE JUST TAKIN RAP FOR GRANTED BECAUSE WE LAYED THE FOUNDATION FOR YALL TO BE ABLE TO BE A PART OF THIS MONUMENTAL MACHINE THAT TOOK OVER POP CULTURE, AN YALL DONT KNOW WHAT HIP HOP MEANS TO PEOPLE WHO WERE INVOLVED WITH IT FROM THE START!! WE VALUE IT, MORE THAN MAKIN MONEY OFF OF IT!! AN THATS WHY THE QUALITY OF TODAYS MUSIC COMPARED TO BACC THEN CANNOT COMPARE!!

I can remember when family took us to see footloose. I was about 12 and hated the movie except the short scene with the sidewalk breakdancer. Back then with no internet we got the boom box and watched breaking on VHS stop pause rewind play lol. My best friend and I would hit high schools talent shows damn good times.
@alpha01able4 жыл бұрын
Wow those were the days, I remembered during 6th thru 8th grade we would bring our own card board and beat box's and called out fools we thought we can smoke, but we got that shit handed to us I mean we were ok we even went against our enemies when we lost we shooked hands end up coming together and naming our self's the 4th Street locker's in San Jose CA not only that we got our beat box's taking away got detention, I'm trying to say we suck and yet we had the best times of our lives nothing could not take that from us...
@greg15033 жыл бұрын
Hearing you mention no internet , and VHS rewinding certain scene over and over again reminds me of similar things . When Flashdance came out I was in 10th grade . There was /is a massive mall down the street from my old high school and Macy's department store had a tv in their clothing section and it was playing a continual loop of the breakdancing scene from the movie featuring the Rock Steady Crew . We would go there everyday after school and watch it . It was a big deal...everyone in school...Hey ! Did you hear they're playing the Breakdance scene from Flashdance at Macy's ?? Then I remember Rod Stewart's Young Turks video had one scene of a white popper busting some moves for a minute or so . I'd watch the video just to see that popper . And Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin came out with a song in the early 80s called In the Mood that featured two young black poppers if I recall . I loved that video and song . Thought it was VERY cool a rock God / legend such as Robert Plant had the insight and vision to put a popper in his video . He knew that shit was fire !! 🔥💯❤️

@paulavery88627 жыл бұрын
militantx0660 I guess the superiority lies in the fact that he got the main role and taco got the supporting role. I guess that's the way it goes.
@ThatVAFranchise6 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily! It all boils down to one's "personal preference". Taco is a beast that is for sure! Not taking anything away from that Legend! But, Shrimps movements just spoke to everything in my being back then so much that it inspired me to develop many of his moves as a base to mine (waaaaaaay back in the day...lol).
