@@jonathang481 she was a singer/songwriter in Nashville already for two-three years before going to Hollywood and changing her youtube channel to what's all there now. She did acoustic, live and studio covers of lots of songs and put them up on her channel. When she signed with Island Records she decided to do a reboot and launch herself as a performance artist, and she deleted all her previous videos.

Your reaction was pretty much the same as mine when I first watched this. Poppy has always had a good set of pipes on her you just had to dig a bit deeper with her past music to see it (her acoustic versions of some of her older songs are a good example), she can throw her voice around everywhere but I always got the impression she didn't quite have the confidence to fully go for it until recently. She obviously has the confidence now and it's absolutely awesome to see it happening.

i saw "i disagree" tour and it was an amazing show. what i loved about Poppy was her morphing of pop and metal . i dont know how i feel about this...it sounds like so many metal or hardcore bands...i will listen to Gouge Away or Cerce if i want hardcore music with female vox. i guess i want Poppy to be Poppy...i love her ever changing of music...it is refreshing to go from pop to aggressive music. usually bands go the other direction.
