Love the animation! Notice how all of the puppets are being pushed agerssively in every situation. while being constructed, while preforming, and pused to the stage. @@lostinoc3528 I don’t think so, I think her style now is actually the exact opposite of what your saying. This is more poppy than ever before. By the sounds of it aswell she wrote this after breaking up with titanic (a controlling man who took her freedom, why would she write something as meaningful as this and have it sound completely different to how she wanted it to be). Poppy is more than capable of sticking up for herself as we saw through her breaking free from titanic’s abusive ways. So why would she now be making music to what a record label wants her to make? She’s strong enough to stick up for herself and knows when she’s being treated unfairly. I’m pretty sure the record label and titanic were the one pressuring her to create pop songs and upon breaking free from titanic she found her true sound.
@lostinoc35283 жыл бұрын
@@Dominicclark_music the titanic tale has been heard friend, heard by all, many times. Her last album was all about her being free from the monster and being herself for first time, this album seems to be that again. Next album will be the same story. If you can get your mind to go beyond titanic for a moment and just lean about the music industry and major labels. Maybe you can start seeing things how they actually are. Right now all you can see or think is titanic. So you aren't seeing or thinking. Cheers.

One of my favorites so far by Poppy. This song definitely has a 90s vibe and I love it.

CRYING. I won't speak to her experiences since they are none of my business but as a survivor of abuse this hits SO HARD I feel personally attacked by how relatable this is. THANK YOU.

I wonder if this video will be at least part stop motion because of the screen shot here and how Ghostemane uses that stop motion artist for some of his music videos.

Looking into it more, he actually used different artists for the stop motion music videos he put out. So idk what artist she used here, I follow some of them on IG. I love stop motion so much. 🔥

So, the question is... who does poppy see herself as, in this representation. Who do you see yourself as? Do we see poppy as one of the replicable performance dolls? Or as the machines that continuously produce different perfect little dolls for our temporary amusement before we change our mood and demand some new similar thing? Or has poppy been the one in the chair this whole time?
@Deckenkrabbler3 жыл бұрын
The girl on the chair probably represents Titanic. It's obvious that he wanted to make Poppy like his Ex Girlfriend.

In abusive relationships, the victim is often made to feel like they are the ones responsible for all the suffering. It's all Her. The robots, the one in the chair, the factory... all Her. Notice the one in the chair seems to be changing "masks". Cycling through facades. Finally the robots take their masks off, and what's staring back isn't what the one in the chair wants to see. Then the one in the chair tosses them down, and walks away. Of course the robots don't look like Her, do they? Add to that the perfect copies show signs of rebellion. Some looking at each other, others stopping what they're doing, some even apparently doing what they're told and still being tossed aside. It's an internal struggle. "It's all Her." But it's also not really Her. This is what she was forced to be, and also made to believe was what she wanted. The one in the chair starts off happy. Then sad. Then angry. Then in the end, dejected. The implication is that the person in the chair is the "bad guy". But are they really? Some people think the one in the chair represents a certain person from Her past. That's not who an abused person would see as the cause of this internal conflict. It would be themselves. "I'm getting to know Her and all of Her anger." The one in the chair isn't some outside force. It's what they believe they wanted to be. In control. Powerful. But nothing was ever perfect. Nothing was ever right. No matter what, they were still tossed aside. Still hurt. All that time believing they were the one in the chair, the one putting on masks, the one becoming a perfect representation of what the one in the chair wanted. At least that's how I see it.

I was not a huge fan of the NXT Soundtrack and it's songs (Stans please don't come after me. I have been a huge Poppy fan since 2017, and have loved all of her work up until that point, the NXT soundtrack just didn't sit with me...) BUT this song was lit!! Hopefully this is going to be the lead single to an upcoming studio album, because if this is the direction it's going then the album is going to be 🔥🔥🔥! Can't wait to hear more music Poppy!!

@Fallen Angel nothing wrong with trying a little "generic rock" to round out the experience that i disagree gave us last year. better that she get the duds out of her system now than save a bunch for an album. this lowkey mellow vibe she has going on here feels a lot more mature than some of her more frenetic stuff, though poppy is no skips for me. hoping she hooks you again going forward 🤙

I think as she grows into being an independent person she realized we're all connected to our references & we're just living the same story with different parameters. Hoping it'll make a different story but this is a loop. There's no other way than "existing".
