@@JWildberry Personally, I don't love to watch those who include all of their deaths or the sections with failing puzzles when they're taking too much time to figure those out. Not everyone has the time and patience to watch a section without you progressing the story. CJU is an exception because he figures things out quickly and efficiently. Different channels. different audiences, there's no reason to deny other channels just because u don't like the way they're doing videos.

@@lneethn2529 I'm not against other channels doing things their way, nor do I whine in the comments that they don't play the way I want. I just stop watching them since I'm not their targeted audience, like you say. But you can't deny that youtubers often jump on the latest trend because they hope they will get more viewers, which means that some audiences get left behind. Finding consistent horror/puzzle youtubers with commentary, no face cam and who takes their time reading notes is...well, I only know CJU. Gab is the closest one I know about. Btw, I welcome any and all suggestions!

It's really nice to see CJU enjoying this chapter, and it is objectively a huge leap in quality from Ch1, even though it's a shame that the devs are such unsavory people (NFT grifting, harassment of young fan animators etc). It feels loaded to support them even indirectly, but maybe I'll watch these playthroughs exclusively instead of spending any money to play it myself.

I think most of the money comes from the merch, yeah the first chapter blew out so much that they already did some merch for chapter 1 & 2 before chapter 2 even came out.

I think you need to learn to separate the actual product from the developers. You can like something even don’t you don’t quite support they do. The whole harassment of young fans you mentioned sounds like hearsay or blown completely out of proportion.

If your appreciation of the final product (and the work of the other, non-sleazy people who contributed to the game) outweighs your misgivings about lining the pockets of asshole devs, then by all means, no one can stop you or anyone from buying the game. But the claims of harassment have been well documented (search "theft king poppy playtime" on YT for a breakdown of the situation) and if separation of art from artist can truly be done, then no one should have any qualms about also admitting that the devs have done some pretty unpleasant shit.

Mechanically this chapter is better, but tension and horror wise the first one had more impact at least for me. HuggyWuggy was a lot creepier, mainly because he didnt chit chat with you all the time, but also his more design was more in the uncanny valley part where it was still humanoid-esque but not really. Mommy is just... not scary at all, just your typical psycho killer with goofy looks. So puzzles and mechanics improvment, horror and overall feel degraded. Hope the next chapter will improve on that.

I agree! Huggy Wuggy was so ominous because of his sheer size and silence - you really just had your own thoughts to entertain you. While Mommy Long Legs is such a cool design, her talking and honestly being kind of charming makes her less scary? I totally agree with what you have here.

What controversies? The NFT thing? Come on. It takes a ton of money to make a game of this quality and they clearly realized they'd made a mistake anyway. They cancelled the program, but can't stop sales due to their contract.

@@TheSwauzz From my understanding some of the devs (or just one really aggressive one?) where harassing a bunch of fan animators, a fair few where kids as well, and there's talk that they ripped off something else to design Huggy. A lot of info I saw is kinda lost to the twitter void but there was quite a few things not sitting right with people. I think it's up to each person how they want to engage with media they're not keen on the creator of and telling people to 'come on' isn't helpful. It's cool if you don't mind and want to just enjoy stuff but other people can still disagree.

I agree about the puns, Chris. Maybe the secondary title to this one should be "Poppy Playtime Poopy Puns Edition."😆 Tbh, I didn't get the same feeling of wacky and fun creepiness that I got from Chapter 1. Despite some new mechanics and enemies, this chapter felt samey samey to me. I preferred the variety of Chapter 1: all the lore, including the goofy videos; the different puzzles; the more varied soundtrack; and, of course, Huggy Wuggy and his totally human animations. I wasn't a fan of Mommy Long Legs or Poppy herself--more irritating than scary to me. But I'll happily watch you play the next chapter.

Along with alleged work conditions at MOB Games, Being jerks to a fan who actually created a horror game that the development team might have taken inspiration from, Etc.

That was good, I'm glad the devs kept the same feeling overall well introducing some more depth and story to help draw you in even more. My biggest fear for this series is that it would fall down the same hole that bendy and the ink machine did. It started off strong but as it drew on it just sort of fell apart and got worse. The game was literally oozing potential but it was never fully realized. I hope these devs can keep at it. Good video! Can't wait to watch you adventure through the next chapter!

i mean, there WAS a ton of drama in between chapter 1 and chapter 2. if you missed it, the accusation was that the devs had ripped off a bunch of ideas, as well as getting into NFT crap which everyone hates and some other accusations iirc. they issued some sort of response after a while of staying silent and then chapter 2 came out not terribly long after, and at least proves they were working on a worthwhile project. i presume most people are over the situation now because the game is turning out pretty alright. i hope they keep the momentum and don't cause a bunch of upsetties again.

I think is less scary when facing a talking monster, chapter one was more scary in the way that at unknown monster is just chasing you with a happy smile in it's face. Nonetheless the game is very polished and has this "Portal" feel to it. Really enjoyed seeing you through this one!

I just want to say, Poppy is everything I hate about dolls, dialed up to 11. Of all of the horror games I've watched people play, this is the one that creeps me out, and makes me tense up. Damn this chapter really was worth the wait!!! And that hand definitely did have animatronic vibes, but also kinda reminded me of the beldam from coraline, especially with all the "mommy" themes. And Poppy is so cool, watching her go from "ally" to not was great. Hope we get to see a lot more of her!

Really enjoyed the first video (especially the intense chase scene), and this did not disappoint! Loved the puzzles, the creepy atmosphere, the sounds… just a whole lot of fun. One thing, how the hell you saw as many of the Whack-A-Wuggies as you did, I have no idea. I couldn’t even see some of them. I’d have failed that test for sure. Thanks, Chris!

It’s a shame that they didn’t really do much with Mommy Long Leg’s stretching. It was mentioned in one of the video logs that she could stretch her limbs and torso for a hundred of meters, I think? They should have done something with that. The chase scene was scary, though, especially her countdown at the start, but they could have had her reach out for you with her limbs, requiring you to save yourself by grabbing those bars to quickly pull yourself away from her.

Thanks ever so much, CJU! I was starting to get the shakes, refusing to watch anyone else play this and waiting on you for first😉. Worth it (which is why I wait for you)! Lots of things to like in this chapter; decent length, (more) challenging puzzles, a much higher creepiness factor, a fun (if a bit overlong -- sorry, jack) cameo, and even some mystery. Did Mommy Longlegs do something to Poppy? She seemed a little spaced after her rescue, not to mention the "betrayal". There were a couple of hints of something odd... even by the standards of "odd" at this factory. And this game has definitely shown that they don't just randomly drop discordant elements for no reason and forget them. So something just might be up with that. I was surprised that the MLL chase averaged out (for me) to be equally as good as the Huggy Wuggy chase although it was a) shorter, b) slower and c) MLL was not as overtly scary as Huggy Wuggy (though she was far and away more creepy and horrifying). Especially since I didn't think too much of "Whack A Wuggy" (nice concept, but seemed technically unwieldy for the player, beyond the obvious impossibility that the games were supposed to demonstrate), or "Statues", which seemed... idk, too linear? Peter was too slow to catch you unless you _really_ stumbled, and what was the penalty for moving in the light? I did like the game references I caught: MLL's meltdown when you disappeared was straight outta "Portal", as was the "service corridors", and the resolution to "Musical Memories" reminded me of an infamous "adventure game trope" puzzle in "Zork Grand Inquisitor". So there were many ways to have a good time with this. Too bad you missed those 2 tapes, but maybe the map will loop in later chapters so you'll have a chance to pick them up 🤞🏾. This game is really superb. So much care and love was put into the art for the posters and cut outs, the monster and set designs, even the voice acting is good (which can't often be said about horror games). I cannot wait for chapter three. You know it's a good one when Chris dies more than once!

That "Spider" at the end was clearly "DADDY Long-Legs"! I guess that was a better ending than being burned to a crisp. Maybe easier to animate, too. ;) It's amazing what they were able to do with very rich textures on very few polygons!

It's a fun game, cute, creepy and has a good balance of exploration and chases. Hope chapter 3 is at least as good, looking forward to it man!

Such an underrated channel and such a great game. I completed the game first then watched nine KZbinrs' playthroughs of it.🤣But Chris your video is one of those I enjoyed the most, because you took the time to admit the game and explore.
