I think the most scariest thing about this besides the ending with all the smiling critters laughing and then suddenly on the floor “asleep” while Catnap sits there is the fact their faces were all normal before he showed up. When they were talking about the wind being scary, their faces were emoting normally while cartoonish. But once Catnap showed up with their big ol creepy smile, the others followed too and ended up looking like him. All the way to them being “asleep”….chilling

To take poppy playtime with having a hard time keeping up with the other horror game progress. They started a short chapter 1 of huggy Wuggy, continued the store with a longer chapter 2 with a few more characters added into the mix, Play the spin off game called project playtime (A multiplayer experience game), I know thanks to the creation of the smiling critters chapter 3 verse to be a part of and then poppy playtime will get the weed turn it’s been waiting for. The scary part is how it started out so wholesome and seemed so realistic, like it could be an actual child TV show, and by the time you realize that, Catnap already shows up and everything escalates! Ok am starting to think I know why Catnap was removed from the Smiling Critters lineup. This tv show episode is probably why. Parents probably saw the part where Catnap was spraying the gas and freak out and demanded Playtime Co to recall and remove Catnap from the show and toy line. Mob game is going full throttle on the creepy and horror aspects with this chapter. Also this guys, playtime co’s equivalent to the Care Bears. Not even going to question it.

Is this like a metaphor for drug addiction? It could also be a nod to the whole “cult” thing they’ve been hinting at in the teasers and trailers. Cat Nap is the one they all look up to, to bring them joy and comfort. Not realizing that he might actually he hurting them and will turn on them in the end, and doesn’t actually have their best interests at heart. Goddamn, this is good! My theory is that if the toys did not obey Catnap they would all be sewn together as one amalgamation of something that could barley be known as human and they would rather inhale highly potent gas then get turned into that. Like another comment mentioned, it could be a possibility that the red gas functions like a sleeping drug that slowly causes one to become addicted to it. This is often the case for when someone overdoses on a drug that either was or wasn't prescribed to them, and it can cause serious issues with completing everyday activities *(sleep is one example).* This is seen with the characters as they can't sleep and are begging Catnap to help them do so. The reason why the Smiling Critters are seen laughing as the red gas fills the room is likely because they're horrified with the situation of never being able to break free from the addiction, and it's comical to them in a very dark manner. That or they could've just outright lost their sanity. Edit: I also just realized one thing; remember the second trailer where we see Catnap mention that he has a "somniferous flock"? It could be him referring to the other Smiling Critters as his followers. Plus, he's inducing sleep on the other critters, which seems to show that this is likely the flock he was referring to.

I love chapter 3 so much more now because of this. In the trailer before anyone knew who "catnap" was, he looked like a big beast to me and then I saw razzbowski post catnap standing at the door and smiling on X. Catnap is an amazing concept of an antagonist. I didn't know the "smiling critters" was a thing until someone talked about it and showed the VHS of all the characters dying from the red gas. Which seems very good to me, it's a shame they eliminated it because Kissy Missy would take this role in chapter 3. Poppy playtime gets darker and darker each chapter. First we find out experiments were being done. Second we find out that they've been killing children to do the experiments. And now we found out how they did it. Poppy play times getting really dark. I'm really excited for the third chapter to come out.

I dont think Catnap is mute I just think he chooses to not talk for whatever reason. Likely because of the Prototype given he worships him. He also may not talk because its a way to intimidate his prey but I could be wrong.
