i know this is your AU but my headcanon is that poppy is just an overprotective mom because you said that player has poppy's dna i think she sees player as her child but is just way to over protective of them Edit1: i changed theory to headcanon because i think it fits better in this sense Edit2: i think the reason she is mad at mommy is because she sees her as a threat meaning that she thinks mommy will take her child away
