My immediate thought when seeing the gas mask is that it actually looks like Bron. Bron's cheeks are yellow and are puffy so they stick out, and the side filter things on the gas mask mirror that. The shape of the red part of the mask is similar to the shape of the red part of Bron's face. Overall, it just really strikes me as something intentional. I have seen a few comments pointing out that in WWII sometimes they would have colourful gas masks so that kids wouldn't be afraid (and would be more easily convinced to wear them) and I feel Playtime Co. could be going for something similar - making the gas mask resemble a character the kids know and love in order to get them to more easily trust the people wearing them, allowing whatever experiment/process/whatever to be done with maximum co-operation from the kids. That leaves the idea of Bron being the next boss quite open - it could be (and, honestly, probably will be) a toy like the others. But it could also be someone dressed as Bron, in a gas mask and hazmat suit. Or both/some amalgamation of the two. Perhaps one of the masked employees got caught up in one of the experiments and became a toy themself... Idk, just some food for thought, I guess.

The fact that it sounded like young children screaming and crying to "something" (experiments of putting their souls inside the monsters, I think they get killed so their soul can go in, probably, meaning they're scared and when they're taken out it just cut to a huge quiet static)

I just realized, one of Bron’s jokes was “What do you call a dinosaur without an eye? A doyouthinkheSAURus (do you think he SAW us)” and in the chapter 3 trailer, bron is missing his eyes. The player may have to multistage boss fight that’s broken up into a “chase-task-chase-final task” sequence w/ Bron like we did with Mommy Longlegs. In the first “chase”sequence, he follow us through a certain (probably metal) area of the factory and it’ll be hard bc he can see where we are. Then our “task” will probably lead to Bron’s eye falling out or breaking, so he’ll have to rely on his hearing. But if we’re in an entirely metal area and we have to use heavy (and LOUD) machinery like we did when encountering Bron in chapter 2, he’ll hear us and then do a final “chase” sequence. After that, we’ll do a “final task” like the pulling the boxes to make Huggy fall or pulling the lever to trap Mommy, and the chapter will have a final scene and resolution.

I find it interesting how the cheers after, presumably, Elliot Ludwig's speech seem to turn into the screams of terror while we're staring at the gas mask. And because the mask is surrounded by all those different toys, I wonder if it's connected to how those people died.

Something chilling about the "No child should be unloved, nor not have a hand to hold when they see a monster in the closet" speech - On the surface, this all sounds very inspiration and well meaning, but they never say what the children would be loved FOR (Value as experiments and raw materials? or actual human worth?). and the "Hand" they're holding? is it keeping them comfort, or dragging them CLOSER to that monster in the closet?

Well, there is evidence that Bunzo and the mini-huggies are dead. Pugapillar I'm not so certain about, but given the theme of dead toys in the trailer I think it makes sense that they wouldn't include a toy that we know is alive.

I believe Kissy will play a larger role than we know right now. She may be harboring/protecting survivors. I think she's laying low to avoid danger, hence why she went unnoticed by Mommy (despite the loud siren that announced her arrival 😄).

Well, we never saw what happened to Kissy Missy, she just sorta vanished after helping us. And judging by how fast Huggy Wuggy was in the vents, she may be getting around that sort of way and is able to avoid the other toys. But since she found it so hard to flip the lever, I think that she wouldn't be the strongest so hiding is her best bet. She might've been watching us the whole time and saw a chance to help us.

I wonder if she’s an earlier or later experiment. I remember a book from my childhood that had an evil mage making mechanical monsters from the souls of children (Lady Knight by Tamora Pierce) and one of them moved slightly awkward due to the soul coming from a child with a developmental delay/had a physical ailment. So I wonder if Kissy Missy has the soul of a child that maybe had an amputation and that’s why she seems awkward with her hand, she’s still trying to get used to it.

Im really hoping that since we are seeing more about the kids, Kissy will be the caretaker role that would comfort the experimental kids because she had already been through it and knows the pain of it, and helps us to uncover exactly what they were doing there. She seemed to have more of a shy, helpful vibe, as if she's testing to see if we are actually there to help her and the others or not

I think when the audio mentioned a child always having a "hand to hold" when monsters are in the dark, it may have been a reference to the hand that came out and grabbed Mommy Long Legs into the darkness. It feels like this gas mask may be connected to that hand actually being that monster in the dark. Especially considering how difficult it is to see out of them. Can't wait to find out though! A gas mask in a way makes sense in a toy factory, as paint fumes are damaging to lungs in any amount. The colours were probably meant to be "child-friendly" as they travel from area to area in the factory and might ran into them. Also the other coloured huggy wuggy did appear, so still on brand and love they change what is going on.

To me, the gas mask makes me really unnerving because of the colors. Especially that it’s shown while talking about an orphanage. Whenever I think of gas masks, I think of war or miss peregrines home, aka children orphaned due to war. It’s creepy since we’ve already established the orphans are experimented on for the toys. I know it’s not that, but it’s a interesting connection. Edit: I see a few comments talking about during war, the government had children’s gas masks be bright colors to make the event seem less scary. I’m not sure what this could imply but it’s an interesting possibility if it’s the developers’ intent.

With the fact that the secret message in the Chapter 1 trailer says that the Prototype’s digestive system is “wired properly”, it makes it seem like the anatomies of the toys are manually put together, and the kids aren’t literally being transformed into the toys. Based on the note in Ludwig’s office, the poppy flowers probably just have some weird chemicals in them that allow the toys to be shocked back to life Frankenstein style.

I think Bron will be a throwaway boss; he's hinted at in the trailer, he'll be the first threat of the chapter, but then at some point, I think a bigger, badder threat will come in and take him out, and suddenly we'll have the other enemy

A thought that occurred when Mat rewatched the Ch2 trailer, was it started with the dead Huggywuggy was dragged off screen by a hand. How did Ch2 end? Mummy Longlegs being dragged away by a hand. Perhaps, rather than all our previous enemies being shown, the opening toys represent those experiment 1006 had already incorporated into themselves? So Bron has already been defeated. All we will see is an alarming number of toys accumulating as 1006 grows in power. That was how I read the opening shots

Something I found interesting in relation to the colourful gas mask is the fact that in war time (Britain I think), they used to have colourful gas masks that had the same colours as the one in the trailer. They used the bright colours to try and persuade children to wear them if needed. I believe they were called Mickey gas masks (as in Mickey Mouse)

I do like the thought of using the mask to protect ourselves from something like poison in a room. But I have a feeling the mask also hints at the next "baddie" in chapter 3 as being a legit human, and not a toy with a human soul. Maybe the owner, or one of the scientists that experimented on the orphans.

This might sound stupid but I think the fact that the toy villains only last a chapter and die, is an analogy to the fact that many toys although important (to a person or the plot in this case), are usually discarded or forgotten and never to be touched again.

The gasmask could be used either for speedrun sections, where you need to complete it in a short while to get to safe area's to change/recharge the mask Or the entire zone is filled with Gas, where you need to go to relay stations, activating zone filters, but you only have limited Filters in your own mask. with certain area's being filled with gas again. as the system containing the gas is OLD. I think you will get a Miniature boogie bot as a comanion, with the boogie bots acting like a hivemind, With a Boogie algamation being one of the boss fights

I had the idea that a “daddy long legs” could be the mysterious experiment. There is one poster just after the statues game with PJ Pug-a-piller of mummy and her family and it gave me Bendy and Alice Angel vibes. The experiment is referred to as he and Mummy long legs seems to be aware of who “he” is.

@@justinmcleod4130 If it will be an Ennard type thing, you can assume that the the prototype will be the left arm, mommy will be the right arm[bc its the one that doesn't get grinded] and Huggy will have some other part of the body[maybe the head], leaving us with 3 other slots: a torso, and both legs. There is also the possibility of it having Bron's tail or Catbee's wings.[edit] @TheDarkadian Gamer48YT If only Huggy's teeth would be the only part we would see, I feel like 1: why only have the main mascots teeth and not the head, and 2[in the lore]: who's head would it fit on[I know mommy is strechy and the prototype takes her arm AND head so we might see mommy's neck, BUT we never see the HEAD itself expand, meaning that it will most likely be Huggy's entire head] Not to mention Huggy has pretty big eyes and they look like they would give the amalgamation good vision[though I theorize if we fight against Boogy Bot, his eyesight be sewn in place of Huggy's, due to logical thinking that the 'robots' eyes would be better than Huggy's, maybe having thermal vision.] Going back on the fact that mommy arm was NOT the only thing swept away, I think mommy will also be the upper torso and neck. This is a separate mini-theory. I also think that Kissy Missy will be the final player 'upgrade', maybe using her skills to help during chase sequences, while Poppy does the talking. I think that Kissy may be an example, along with poppy, that there are some good experiments. Maybe we will see characters like Candy cat and others[maybe some new characters that we haven't seen yet] helping us out, some maybe being caught by the prototype, others helping us take it out. Lets just hope that the baking soda Poppy Playtime gave to matpat will result in a nice doughy theory to chew on[yes those were puns]

I used to be on team "huggy's coming back" because of the tell tale rule of offscreen deaths, but I'm inclined to believe matpat's theory more. From a game design perspective, they present them on equal footing in the trailers, which makes it seem like huggy really is gone for good. They're definitely building up for 1 amalgamation boss at the end, in which huggy, in design and appearance, will definitely make a return, though.

There are in fact, TEASER TRAILERS, In video games, trailers are usually divided into 3 categories, gameplay trailers, cinematic trailers, and teaser trailers, the Gameplay Trailer shows things like game mechanics and features, like how call of duty usually displays movement changes, weapons and maps in their gameplay trailers,. Cinematic trailers are pre-rendered scenes such as in game cutscenes or scenes that were made for the trailer only, for example, EA's Star Wars Batlefront II. teaser trailers showcase both cutscenes and gameplay footage in a very short format. Teaser trailers last around (30 seconds to 1 and a half minutes) While cinematic and gameplay trailers are usually from 1 - 3 minutes long.

I like the idea that, instead of Bron being a villain or just a fake-out, a living Bron might sacrifice himself to protect us from something or someone, leaving only his head behind. I think it’d be sweet and very sad. Alternatively, there might be some important secret hidden in or on the head of a Bron in chapter 3

One interesting thing to notice is that the Mommy Long Legs toy is ripped in two, resembling her death in chapter 2, but Huggy is completely intact and hasn't taken any damage. That tells me that he might not be dead, compared to Mommy Long Legs, who is definitely dead.

Idk if anyone else has said it already, but Playtime Co was founded in 1930, before WWII. During the war leisure item companies such as toy companies were restricted on what they could produce due to materials such as rubber, metal, and rayon being vital to the war efforts. Colourful masks were produced in order to make them more appealing to children. Infact, in 1942 Walt Disney produced a gas mask that looked like Mickey Mouse (it's super cursed looking) to try help calm children during raids. It wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think that Playtime Co would have produced colourful masks for children like the one in the teaser (Also possibly that they made a toy who wore masks to make it less daunting for kids, so a gas mask monster could still be a thing). I'm gonna admit I'm not american and I'm not familiar with how often the US was actually bombed during WWII, nor how big the fear of bombing was at the time. If it had been set in the UK I'd say the factory would defo have been hit and the orphans would have been trained with masks ect. But it may just be a production link rather then a physical bombing link given Playtime Co's location in America. Well, that's all just a theory!

My theory is that Elliot Ludwig, who is presumably the one talking in the background, may be the one wearing the gas mask. Maybe you meet or see him in Chapter 3 and he's slowly been driven insane after being trapped with his own creations for so long (plus all that experimenting with kids is bound to do *something* to your head), or he possibly ends up being the *true* villain of the story and he keeps the mask on in case the alleged gas does anything to him. *Just a theory* though

dude when the factory was running ,during their time period, a lot's plagues came out and they took advantage by promising orphan kids who had no shelter or parents during the plague so maybe they lured the children into their factory because no one even would question them cuz bringing in orphan kids during plagues was a good deed, also the cracks can be because its an old factory and the toys can be of the children and also remember that mommy was detachable doll. Looking at how the toys were scattered, there must've been like the plague spreading into the factory and they had to evacuate, explaining the screams at the end and also maybe the more smarter kids were made into main mascots and the less smarter kids were made into other side character toys or maybe their flesh was used to make the small versions of the main mascots. Yes maybe we will get the mask because there still can be infection in the playcare

My guess about the gas mask is that it’ll be an item you get in chapter 3 where most of the toys in the playcare usually aren’t aggressive however when you put on the mask to go through an area all the toys become super aggressive due to them seeing the people with the gas masks during the merging

I’m pretty sure that it was confirmed by MOB Games that Bron is the main villain. A: Because of the shot of his head we see in the teaser B: We have a secret OST released by the game called “In a Giant’s House,” which could refer to Bron It could also be Poppy because the cover of the OST is a slight silhouette of Poppy. Nice video, Matpat! Love seeing you break this down bit by bit and offer your thoughts. I recommend checking out Tericho's video "Playtime Co Were Using CHEMICALS on their Customers!" Because it brings up some interesting ideas and concepts about the poppy flower mixture. As for my own thoughts, i'm not sure if I'm right, but at 0:30 seconds into the teaser I was able to make out another-seemingly LARGER- Huggy "doll" laying on the ground. It could just be perspective, but I wanted to point it out just in case.

I wonder how the prototype fits into everything. Like, currently I think it's collecting useful parts of the big bosses. What did Mommy have? Super stretchy limbs! What did Huggy have? He was the only one (at least in my memory) with a powerful jaw and crazy sharp teeth! Those are all useful parts for a deranged psycho experiment. Does he have Poppy? If yes, why? Where is Kissy? If Bron is the antagonist of chapter 3, will she help us again? Will we team up? I'm rather hyped for this chapter, if you couldn't tell.

Something interesting to me: until you said “gas mask” I legitimately thought we were staring at some sort of horrible monster-amalgamation of a quad roller skate. (Wheels on the side, brake in the front.) A roller skate would be fitting in a toy company’s repertoire. How it fits into the story/gameplay I couldn’t tell you…but I wouldn’t be surprised by its inclusion in the game.

It has just occurred to me. I think the player character is a kid who got away. If I recall, Poppy says something like, “you’re perfect.” It explains why you can pass all the trials in chapter two even with all the odds stacked against you. You aced them as a child. After that, you ended up escaping, but something has called you back. Idk if anyone else has thought of this, but I’ll leave it here for you guys =D

I don't think the antag of CH 3 will be a toy at all. I'm sure there will be toys, yes, but I think the main villain will actually be a scientist/researcher who survived in the factory and tries to use us to finish what he started. Kinda like Sammy Laurence from Bendy. Maybe he'll even recognize us and remember who we were and we'll get some dope lore drops from his dialogue

I have a theory: The creature putting pieces of toys together was somehow stuck in the depths of a hole. The same hole Huggy Wuggy`s body fell down. The creature used his body to escape the hole, creating the red handprints climbing up some walls we see in the game (same evidence from huggy is still alive theory). The creature will make use of bits of the bosses and when we finally face it, the devs will make the fight reflect the previous ones (probably some form of vent chase to remind us of Huggy, I don`t know what they`d do for Mommy though). Bonus but lacking actual evidence: Poppy probably thinks the creature was still down the depths of the factory, which is why she makes the train go down. Poppy has something the creature needs Maybe the creature`s intentions is to become human-looking again so it takes the human looking bits from the monsters? idk, that would be cool tho Edit: Bonus points if creature turns out to be just a child who desperately wants to go home, stuck inside a terrible creature.

I'm pretty sure the mask is a toy with the yellow bits being wheels so it can move around. I assume the game play will be hide and seek where you hide in safety rooms to not necessarily hide from the gas mask but from the gas it creates. I also think there will be a few other monsters whose mechanics will make it harder to hide like a monkey who attacks you if you stay too long in the safety room. its purely a guess but I think it would be fun or at least a bit interesting.
