To help this along I would suggest you give your carpet a really good clean with your vacuum cleaner before you start and pre-treat heavily stained areas before you use this and I have doubled up on the solution and found this makes a massive difference as well as using hand-hot water, take your time as rushing doesn't help. I have an oatmeal coloured carpet and two dogs and I'm impressed with the result.

I just had to come to the rescue of this lovely carpet shampooer. I have just purchased on Amazons deals. Anyway turned up I put it together quickly. Watched this brilliant video and away we go! It has picked up so much dirt the waste collection was dark brown. This was from my rugs that are in the hallway so get a lot of traffic. I’m now working my way through the house. Definitely recommend. I actually didn’t want to spend £400/500 on a carpet shampooer so went for Amazons choice and it was money well spent. I’ve had loads of carpet cleaners over the years and none 14:37 as good as this. Very easy to use even the attachments are simple to put on and take off. Thank you for this brilliant video. It enabled me to get on with it! As someone said to the point without the talk!

fantastic vid mate i do wanna point out that spot cleaner attachment is actually pre treatment wand and you use that with vax pre treatment solution before actual washing to get out the really dirty parts of carpet

@@Zipppojaws mine doesn't do it now.. found a tip off someone. Make sure it's upright when you turn the power on. Leave it about 5 seconds to work then do what you want. And do the same before you turn the power off. Had no problems now. But mine used to trip the electrics to

Just bought this today, house with 2 children and 2 dogs, upgraded from the swan carpet cleaner that was starting to fail. Like it so far, my only issue is that you can’t take underneath off/apart to clean like you mentioned in the video. My old swan will all come apart for easy cleaning. Shame vax didn’t think of this considering it’s branded as a “pet” carpet cleaner so you’d expect pet hair all stuck around the rollers/in the suction bit 🥴🫣

i followed VAX instructions nohow to clean it and then the main brushes stopped turning. Had to make sure all the components where very dry especially the belt. However the method of cleaning was very poor and doesn't work. Ive also found that it clogs the little mesh behind the waste container every few mins. A real pain when using it as when that mesh gets blocked, the thing then dumps the dirty contents back on to my cream carpet and stains. Completely the opposite of what the thing is intended for. i have a rubber round that seems to have fallen out of the top tank at the bottom around the outlet to the next tank. It means the water in the top tank is pouring straight out of the back of the machine. How can I fit it back in?

Hi. Yes it's quite a hard machine to maintain and are one is starting to make some very loud noises 😯 Possibly there is an error with the drive belt. Usually to clean it I just rinse it through with some hot water as best as I can....flushing the dirt out of the hard to reach areas.👍

Hi Rob and Mel have used the machine and 4 loads of clean water but hardly any dirty water coming out. Its a nightmare to clean the brushes if the fluff gets under the brushes, was hoping your excellent video would show an easier way to take the brushes out to clean as I fear it is blocked hence why the dirty water not going into the container. Any ideas, is there a repair centre to take it to? It's only 4 months old so under guarantee?

Hiya. Its difficult to clean the brushes out I agree.....I tried once to unscrew some screws on the bottom plate in hope of being able to release the brush bar....but wasn't able to do it. So usually I just try to flush out any dirt with clean water (on the outside patio )... but it only works to a degree. That's seems a bit low.....(4 loads of clean water ) but hardly any dirty water. Usually I find the dirty water tank fills fairly quickly. Possibly a problem with the extraction and suction maybe. I think for repairs there should be a number for vax in the manual....possibly on the back page. 🤔

Hi Jennifer, yes I worked it out myself. Squeeze trigger when moving forward to release detergent. Let go when going backwards so it just sucks up the liquid. Just had to change the belt. They overheat and snap.😂

I'm finding with mine that i can use a whole tank of water but it's only actually sucking up about a quarter (or less) back up. Is that normal? I can't help but to feel like its leaving the carpet wet and making me tempted to ditch it and go for a rug doctor.

Aha! A comment that I was looking for. Mines doing the exact same. It's quite damp underfoot. I also notice in this video the suction and water at the front seems a lot more than what I can notice on mine sadly.

Mine will put down 2l of water and pick up less than 50ml. It worked the first time but never since. Unfortunately carpets went mouldy underneath which is a shame because they’re a year old and the only way to get rid of the mould and the associated smell was to take up the carpets and tile. It won’t even pick water up from a solid floor. Avoid

Hi... yep... So pressing the trigger dispensers the liquid on to the carpet ( ideally in a forward motion)... then release the trigger and pull backwards, for it to start the suction process. 👍

@@anniebanu9253 in winter it would take a good while to dry I last did mine September and it took a couple of hours ....but I used fans aswell to dry it faster so fans is a good way to dry it quicker or heat hope this helps

Only thing I can think of is making sure it's secure and fitted correctly to the base ( push and twist ) - and possibly there could be air in the hose. I've recently had some failings on my one too....it won't stand up any more as a catch looks to have broken. I have to hold it up or it just falls backwards to the floor.

Hmmm - it should be a case of pressing the trigger to make the water go onto the carpet.......but then releasing the trigger to let the machine then 'suck up' the dirty water from the carpet into the waste tank. Is it not sucking the water back up on a second pass?

@@changbeerbeer Yes! Tip above says start and stop the machine in the upright position. Start it, leave for about 5 seconds then release the handle. Use it then push the handle back to upright before switching it off. Going to try this tomorrow. 😃

A helpful review but this machine is dreadful. Barely picks up any water no matter how many times I drag it back nor how slow I drag it back. The brushes leave dirt tramlines so it's a constant wash and re-wash! The pressure button for spraying the water down is terribly stiff. Putting the 2 compartments in place takes skill. Need to keep one leg behind the machine as you put them on or else the machine topples backwards and it takes several attempts to get it to click in. And as for cleaning the machine itself, well that's another story. I'm going back to Bissell.

I’ve just bought this and like it’s lightweight, but I find I can’t get the attachments to work (the one to clean stairs) took me 15 of pressing it to eventually get it to work? Is this normal as yours seems to work straight away? Don’t know if to take it back ?

If I remember right the hose connects to the base unit by a twist & turn on the larger hose and also the smaller clear ( water feed hose ).....it did take me a while to get used to it also ....mainly I had problems with the smaller clear hose as I wasn't connecting it correctly so the supply of water/solution was restricted. I think you've just got to play around with it to make sure the connections are good. Best of luck.

Very poor quality it's been leaking everywhere to bee honest read a lot of reviews and many people have same issue also small starts hoover does it not work properly every so often stops and whole machiner start working so when you want to use small for stairs you have to play with it and hope that start working I wouldn't buy it again to be honest I'm looking something smaller now for stairs and car as this is nightmare to get it working as it is on and off
