I ended up doing to Insecure what I did with Empire and just checked out midway Season 2. It began to feel like it was more about the Black Aesthetic than actual substance amongst the characters. Visually stunning,Musically wonderful,perfect use of colloquialisms but as far as good storytelling,it just lacks something for me.

I haven’t seen the last episode of insecure and I’m not sure if it’s the network or the writing of this show, but I’m not understanding how the 4 ladies characters haven’t developed more. Tiff’s clear signs of postpartum just came and went like a fart. I was hoping to see what would come of it plus Kelly has so much humor that’s just overlooked. I get Issa and molly are the anchors of this show but there’s so much that can be done in 30 minutes that’s just missed opportunities with this series. They deserve more episodes per season and I guess some clarity on the roles of tiff and Kelly. I get a girlfriends, living single , sex and the city, camaraderie vibe but the other two are lost in translation. Maybe it’s me lol 🤷🏽‍♀️
