Popular mortician opens up on why she showcases job on TikTok, biggest nightmare in the line of duty

Filinda Kamau has become an online sensation by sharing videos from a mortuaty in Nakuru where she works as a mortician. Filinda says she wants to help people overcome the fear of mortuaries and end stigma towards people working in funeral homes. She is popular as she documents her work from the cold rooms, sharing her experiences with dealing with the dead and why nyama is her favourite meal.

I used to work with a certain funeral home some times back but was moving with the hearse to funeral,let me tell you I lost friends too,but thank God my family including my 4yr old son stood with me.from experience, there is no comfortable work to do in this world than to deal with the dead,watu hawakusumbui,all you need is just to study their keens during burial na kazi inakua fiti. congraturations gal for believing in yourself.👏👏👏👏

Great work lady. In 1990 at the Nairobi City Mortuary I watched morticians pull a body of a relative out of those drawers, pull/stretch it - it made a CRACKing sound - spray it with a chemical that burnt my nostrils, they were immune to it....intense - my respect.
