Elce, keep up the good work brother. I have a question. When I read Hosea 2-11 it says that all Celebrations, Yearly Festivals, New Moons, Sabbaths will be stopped. Also, in Amos 8 verse 5 the question is asked when will the New Moons and Sabbaths cease so that they will be able to sell grain and market wheat. In verse 9, the Sovereign Lord appears to answer the question and say those things will end when he makes the Sun go down at noon and darken the earth in broad daylight. Am I correct in interpreting that these verses are a prophetic message pointing to the fact that the New Covenant would begin at the Cross and that the Sabbath days would end there as well?

Blessings bro Michael. You are correct to interpret it as such. The New Covenant, started at the Cross, brought an end to those shadows that pointed to Christ (Col. 2:16-17). We are under the New Covenant and aren't obligated to adhere to those shadows.

@@ReverendThunder So what is the SDA argument against this prophecy? It seems pretty straight forward and easy to understand. I get the fact that there is a need for the SDA as an organization to be slippery and have all kinds of creative solutions to apparently straight forward biblical answers to their incorrect theology like misplaced commas and conveniently splitting the law into a piece that can pass away and another that doesn't. But, scripture says the Ten Commandments are the "Words of the Covenant" and The Covenant passed away. These verses show that the OT prophets foretold the passing of the Sabbath and the actual day and hours when it would happen. What is the slippery argument against this prophecy?

@@michaelvaught2679 you've already identified what they do to retain the Sabbath--split the law into pieces, retain the Ten Commandments (and other laws as they wish, dietary, tithing, etc) and claim that everything else outside of the Ten are "ceremonial" "law of Moses" and abolished, except for the laws of Moses that they deem not the laws of Moses nor abolished (dietary, etc).

Very nice People on both sides Blake No day is prescribed for Christians to worship on under the New Covenant. Believers are free to congregate whenever they want to. Days of worship are inconsequential to salvation and new covenant faith in Christ. I have a video on this too, which you can access on the playlist.

At 7:35, do you have any official statement from sda/sabbatarian especially sda. That says abraham kept sabbath,? We don't see a please where abraham is told to sacrifice a lamb? We don't see God saying to abraham not to kill/steal. Where is God telling abraham not to make an image? Is the things abraham told by God that are written the ONLY ONES abraham was to do? What's the difference between adultery in exodus 20 and mathew 5? If you keep the adultery law is in exodus it kills you. But if you kept it in Mathew 5 it will make you live. The former Adventist is so excited until he balantantily lies about sda is isa66. Not a single statement in all adventism that ascribes isa 66 to heaven. That's what hate for sda/sabbath make. Do those jews who worship every day watch babylonian people burning outside Jerusalem ? There's NOTHING in Adventist that say isaia 66 is heaven. That's meant to consume time. Malachi is not the only one that says God is not changeable. Listening to that context has nothing to character of God. The question is question is DOES GOD CHANGE? Check he changed only on the SABBATH! All the other 9 were recycled. Were the disciples reaping? Jesus surely knew sabbath was ceremonial he just put it among the 10! The sabbath I keep that of exodus 20. For God created. The the totality of the sabbath in the Gospels is "what is lawful to do on the sabbath". Jesus uses the title "son of man" that's really interpretation.

Edward Colley you seem to either have a fear of Satan or an affinity with him. I don't see how he gets into a subject discussing biblical contexts for out of used Sabbath prooftexts. You'd do well to consider the context of that text you quoted and you'd realise that it isn't talking about your preconceived commandments (hint, the context begins in 13:34 and ends in chap. 17, it's one contextual speech). Jesus often meet us ignorant but he doesn't leave us that way. The disciples became so learned under Christ's tutelage that we have to study so many things to correctly understand what they penned. Zachary Kendrick I think that this is what you assume about Matt. 24:20, so here's my response: Matt. 24:20 Pray that your flight may not be in winter or on a Sabbath. (The assumption: Jesus knew the Sabbath would be kept 40 yrs after His crucifixion; His death on the Cross did not do away with the Sabbath, it must be kept today.) Explanation- This is a warning that is given, among many others, describing the dire straits that Jerusalem will be in when it will be under siege and is being destroyed. Winter would not be conducive for the disciples to flee, hence the hope that their flight be not in winter. Since the command and instructions of Nehemiah (Neh. 13:15-22), the Gates of Jerusalem were closed every Sabbath up to the Destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. Because of the closed gates, it would be impossible for the disciples to flee and save themselves, hence Jesus says to pray that the destruction don’t come on the Sabbath. Jews would still be keeping their Sabbath, therefore this would be a grave danger for the Jewish disciples in Jerusalem. This is not a universal call for Sabbath-keeping! “Or on a Sabbath” is recorded in Matthew because he wrote to Jews, whereas Mark and Luke, who wrote to Gentiles (to whom the Sabbath did not apply and chances are would not have been in Jerusalem on the Sabbath), do not contain this statement (Mark 13:18; Luke 21). Furthermore, this statement cannot be referring to the entire world as many parts of the world do not have winter nor are some able to keep the Sabbath.

Zachary Kendrick 1 John 5:3 is merely reiterating what the author had explained God's commandments to be in the two previous chapters. Here's what he said they were and what were the controlling message/commandments of his 3 epistles: 1 John 3:21-24 [21]Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; [22]and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. [23]This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. [24]The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.
