Too bad shopping malls have largely fallen out of popularity. Kudos to the ones that have managed to hang in there. These were the golden years of shopping malls.

Doing my best Matt. We saved everything so there's a lot to go through. I have been thinking about adding a new franchise--News 8 Throwback--Then and Now. It's not always people-- but places too. Thank you for your feedback. Barb Nielsen

when i first moved to SD I was single and needed new work clothes, as no one dressed in suits in professional positions. I was in temporary housing, listening to Jim Rome show on radio, and heard the Fashion Valley JC Penny commercial: “JC Penny’s men’s store at Fashion Valley; get in; find what you need; get out!”. It was so true, upper level entrance went right into the men’s store, dockers, hagar pants, short sleeve buttone down shirts, all right there. I always did my shopping at that JC Penney’s at Fashion Valley.
@franciscoflores79112 жыл бұрын
I grew up going to the South Bay Plaza. My parents would buy my back to school clothes at JC Penney, my shoes at Thom McAn. And my dad would always buy stuff from Western Auto. My favorite store was the little hobby store at the east end of the shopping center where I would buy my model cars and supplies to build them.

Notice how they didn't use the word mall in this report. In Mexico, new shopping centers and malls are popping up in many cities in the last few years, some make Fashion Valley look miniscule and outdated. Meanwhile, shopping malls in the US continue to struggle thanks to online shopping.
