Now I understand why I kept getting shot while holding the katana.... need to figure out how hold it while moving to block shots.

It's really hard to get it to cover your whole body when you're moving. They also changed the way the shield works the last day of testing so I didn't have a chance to experiment too much. I'll try to update you guys as I find stuff out.

@@laurenzmillin6301 The shield in the last day of testing is wider and seems to more closely hold towards the front of your body when moving, which completely ruined the tricks that I had learned before to keep myself shielded. Will need to do more testing once the update comes out.

@@amazingwarrior5391 Right, but it is currently desynched from the server, where the shield will look like it's covering you, but on the enemies screen it is not. Hopefully fixed soon.

I’ve done this with a friend grab the katana shield and while a friend is sniping put slightly in the barl and in front of them they have protection and being able to snip save also do this crouching

I love this game, the only suggestion is however is dominant hand preferences. I know there are already left and right handed preference options, however I use guns with my left hand but want to use the knife and katana with my right and I have to change the locomotion every time I use it. But other than that the game is sickkkkkk.

I know exactly how you feel. I am left eye dominant but right handed. So I shoot rifles and other guns lefty, but want to shoot pistols and use katanas right handed. Hopefully someday.

One several occasions now I've whacked opponents two or three times with the katana, some even while they were being shot, and it didn't kill them.

If you don't do the full swing through and have good speed, you won't do full damage. Minimum damage it can do is 0 if you are just shaking it. Sometimes it can do 15 or 20

Knife will be useful in hot drops but katana will be useful in climbing attacks and close quarters defense Edit If you didn't know climbing is almost silent especially in the midst of a battle

Climbing does make a lot of noise, but yet mid battle it's harder to hear. With the addition of zone grenades and the LMG, those weapons can prevent you from being able to hear as well.

@@Sumatchi true its more that when I hear flying or footsteps I automatically tune in but sometimes if fools are climbing they'll sneak up behind while im taking shots

No. The shield will not block melee

it only works with the Katana. It works on the Katana still in you use the Katana in custom lobbies

Why do you swap your dominant hand whenever you fire the magnum

I'm actually right handed. I taught myself to shoot rifles left handed because my left eye is my dominant eye. Doesn't matter too much for pistols tho so I still prefer them right handed

Maybe I'm too new. I don't understand a lot of what I'm seeing. At one point, you snuck up behind a guy and with about a second of sustained fire, he dies. I can sustain fire on a player for a lot longer and they take damage, but they don't ever go down. Then they usually turn and just ice me in one second of burst fire.

The katana needs to be swung through to do full damage

Note the spray pattern of each gun in practice, typically they shoot up then to the right. Also practice leading your target slightly. SMG’s and shotguns are the best burst dmg at short range
