It's sad to say and God Bless the Dead, but he/dugin may have very well lost his own daughter due to that smirk or rather the game that ......."He"....... decided to play ; in trying to forcibly take back the independent country of Ukraine. Now I love my country, but America in general and we Americans as a culture/people are definitely not perfect either. With that said, as a nation Americans are actually fairly UN-ambitious when it comes to taking over the world. With our military we could destroy ourselves and the entire planet a few times over. Yet we look to influence change more than force change. Granted there are great many things that we Americans/that Everyone should leave alone on this planet. But in fairness, I would ask the lady from Afghanistan to compare her country from a year and 1/2 ago to where it is today with the taliban in charge? I personally don't want to see war, I don't wish to see people/anyone get hurt. Americans have a lot to learn,.....But not everything is our fault on this planet And much like America if not more so, Russia is in many ways it's own worst enemy. Peace to us all,

Danni Rogger It makes me uncomfortable to watch this, because while these famous or half-famous people speak with an air of confidence, while the audience laughs approvingly at things they say, NONE of them (panel or audience) has ANY idea what is going to happen in the future. (James 4:14, New Testament) 'Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow; you are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.' (Psalm 94:11, Old Testament) 'The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are a breath.' (1st Corinthians 1:20, New Testament) ' 'Where is the wise man? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom f God the world through its wisdom did not know God, God was well-[pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.' Dugin doesn't make sense to me, how is populism good when it led to things such as Hitler and Putin? Why should people become fanatical religious of a single person or their own country instead of being masters of themselves? If someone can't think for themselves, if they can't even handle their own lives, why should I trust such a failure and share their political values when it only leads to stupidity and failure? Populism and Dugin embody weakness of the individual to me, they'd rather be sheep than human from what I gather. Populist societies are weaker than liberal societies as demonstrated many times in History and now in Ukraine. I don't care about the morality of it (which I would say disfavors populism) but I care about how much it will improve my life and Humanity as a whole. Populism is inefficiency, broad rules and limited thinking. Liberalism is competition at its best, survival of the fittest, nature incarnate, evolution.

Here's a comment: Blinken saying we still have a strong independent media is not true. Neutral reporting turned very quickly into propaganda after feb 24th 2022 and for the entire pandemic before that, anyone questioning the virus was shut down, banned, shunned. This stance leaked over to the dinner table where attempts at debate based on evidence turned to blows.

Southern Knight Very interesting comment, especially for a non-American who can't understand why Americans inject partisan politics into everything under the sun. In that case, why only two parties? Doesn't it virtually guarantee bitter strife? Why not many parties, as they have in Israel, or none at all-----------just Independents voting according to conscience? In my own country, 'party discipline' is a scourge, everyone following the Leader or else in danger of his wrath (his, because wrath is not considered lady-like. Even our self-styled 'feminist' PM likes his lady ministers compliant.). This 'discipline' assures that our politics remain as amoral as possible while maintaining a thin veneer of superficial decency. How can one speak of genuine decency, when all parties from Left to Right support unrestricted abortion?

An issue can be 'properly' debated but that's idealistic. But how can it be representative. The lawmakers are their own class and culture by definition (coming together as a community). If you want to have someone speak for you, you have to pick someone from the middle of your own cultural context, and then, when they did speak for you, have them return to your space. Hence populism, but of course that was an idealization too even though Trump keeping connected to 'his' group via enduring speaches was on the right track
@cakemix007
@cakemix007 Жыл бұрын
as I see it... the problem with American "representative democracy" is it doesn't represent the people - it "represents" a small and established elite... And hence Trump populism. I have no illusions about his abilities as an administrator - but his great asset is he has been rejected by the ruling elite That this is even possible - tells me the American democratic system is still functioning. What's failed is American media

James Hally As it says in Ecclesiastes, 'there is nothing new under the sun', and this applies to the 'herd mentality' of which you speak. Tribalism did not die with the rise of 'atomized individualism', which I used to regard 10 years ago as the chief threat emanating from internet culture. Advances in communication and other technologies have done little or nothing to change, let alone 'improve' the essential nature of human beings. (I think the Afghan woman reflected on that briefly.) I think that democracy, like communism, can only exist in a meaningful way when practiced on a very small scale, by people who are intensely committed to fellowship and mutual care. Ideally these would be Christian communities, bound together by common loyalty to One Master and Savior. Even so, there would have to be guard-rails against dissension and the competitive spirit With procedural democracy in which millions of voters participate, I'm not sure how much the distinction between 'representative' and 'direct' democracy matters. Firstly, GOD remains Sovereign over ALL historical events, including political events regardless of cultural tradition or regime type. Secondly, there is NO WAY to determine something which does not exist, namely, a singular and unified 'will of the people'-------------not when 'the people' consist of millions of individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural groups, having diverse interests in various proportions. . Even if 'the people' had a will, it would probably be WRONG most of the time. (Jeremiah 17:9) 'For the heart is deceitful beyond all else, and is desperately sick; who can understand it?' I think one reason for lack of participation in elections is the CORRECT perception that they are a ritual performance, that citizens do not really have power to shape political decisions affecting their lives.

One term that I think may be very pertinent but wasn't mentioned once: Traditionalism. The Traditionalists trace their philosophy back to Guenon, Evola, et al. Their ideal 'golden age' is a caste system of priests, warriors, merchants, and commoners. They view the world's ages as cyclical, with our current one being 'dark', just before a new dawn, with the caste pyramid inverted (commoners on top/ priests on bottom; material over spiritual). They see themselves as "against the modern world." War for Eternity by Tietelbaum is an excellent book on this subject. I think Dugin would have preferred if Bannon had not left the White House. Imagine: two supposed Traditionalists in the ears of the kings ruling two great superpowers. I say kings because there's another term, which I'm not yet sure how connected it is to Traditionalism, but similar: Neoreactionary. This is a newer movement out of Silicone Valey with ideals of a return to monarchy. Certain members of the supposed 'PayPal Mafia' openly quote from this newer philosophy. They also fund controversial politicians with a supposed goal of maximum disruption. It's reminiscent of Bannon's "burn it all down" remarks. I find it all very interesting. The Russo-Ukranian war is a new event in the whole mix. I think there's a global cultural war going on, mixed in with the classic economic reasons. What's crazy to me, is the mystical aspects of these movements which are heavily engaged in politics.

Mircea Crisan Apparently Mr. Putin can understand the deepest desires of the Russian people telepathically, sitting alone at his long table or wherever else he likes to sit. He embodies their 'will' to such an extent that he does not really need elections. But he has them anyway, to demonstrate how generous he is, allowing a small opposition to exist. Life can go downhill fast for a person who has dared oppose Mr. Putin. The Russian people must be very angry with them, because Mr. Putin is never responsible for the terrible things which happen to them, like getting shot in the back, or getting poisoned with Novichok. Vladimir is such a nice Russian Orthodox boy. He slaughters Ukrainian Orthodox people. He allies himself with the islamic republic of Iran and with atheistic China. So odd to hear Dugin (an unapologetic fascist) platformed at an event like this.

Dugin! If you see this, turn to Jesus Christ YESHUA for TRUTH AND salvation and the forgiveness of your sins before it's too late for you, choose this Day or die in your sin

You would be so right, if the world could downsize to that only. And still, you would have spread of opinions (and their immaturity) to fight firsthand. They call it populism right here.

First time seeing the mythical Dugan in a debate ... that guy's arguments are extremely shallow, it is like listening to angry teenager, but with more nice words to make him sound smart.

Dear Managers of this channel, did you ever think that you are damaging the EXCELLENCY of what you are organising/sharing? When I am ready a book I reduce my alert mode and my attention mode towards the book so I am focused on the book and I have pencils and my note book so there is a dialogue between me and the author. I walk daily 10 kilometers in the forest. I prefer to select to listen ONLY COMPLETE programs. I avoid stuff of less than 45 minutes. So, you manage to make this absolutly brilliant conversation and the best idea you got was to slice it. It is boring, un-educative, plus extremely irratating with so much advertising. Think about it. 🌹

Thanks for the feedback. But actually the best idea we got was to upload the full conversation :) You can find it here: nexus-instituut.nl/en/activity/the-last-revolution. May we also say that having to watch the advertising is really only a small price to pay for content that was quite expensive to create for a small nonprofit organization...

@@TheNexusInstitute thank you. Keep the good work. When you are in the forest with gloves it is messy the process of finding the next video and skip advertising. 🌹

@@blairhakamies4132 Karen, no one cares about your opinion. You literally said it; You're someone else lost in the forest. As a psycololgist, it is very easy to spot behaviour patterns like yours: You are no one. And you have no real power - (you need to try to influence here) and you have no meaningful social life (you explain your routine with detail in some random comment. Cope and sorry for you. TLDR, get a life.

The comment by Nelofar comparing the US to the Russians in destroying Afghanistan is unfair and wrong on so many levels. There are no comparisons. The US did its best to help and build Afghanistan.
