My brother was in charge of one of adobes kitchens and was being trained to be the next cdc before he had to leave, I remember him talking about how strange the ceo was, where like there was an entire office floor filled with desks and computers and normal work stuff, but it’s only him up there and he had all his food hand delivered to the floor like some corporate overlord. Although there's absolutely lazy cops, a problem of this scale is definitely a problem of resources. Having several family members in law enforcement and having interned myself, thefts of ~$20 aren't even on the radar of most departments due to prioritizing other possible crimes. For example, to most law enforcement, stopping someone who's speeding is 100x more important than a porch pirate, because lives are in danger in this case. Summarized: minor theft, no matter how widespread, doesn't hold a torch to felony crimes.

Some more details on the Starliner problems: the (first) issue was a helium leak that was small enough that the spacecraft could still function on its way up. As of a few days ago at least, they still had enough helium to make it back to earth even if the return trip took a few days longer. Apparently other spacecraft have flown with small leaks before as well, not sure which ones off the top of my head. There might have been more things that have come up since I heard all that though. Another thing, one of the reasons the launch was delayed for so long was a bad valve in the ULA rocket, not the Starliner - though the helium leak has been going this whole time...

Just a bit of clarification, starliner is ready to come home it’s just that they’re trying to study the service module because it’s gonna be jettisoned on reentry and burn up. Boeing is still shit but their space division is less shit. Also people also get spoiled by the success of spaceX sometimes. Not what’s happening here but spaceX sometimes does more in a day than other space agencies/ companies do in a quarter.

I wish they would have said what was in the box. The only thing I've ever had stolen from Amazon was actually by the Amazon worker. He put it down, took a photo of it, walked down the stairs and then came back up and grabbed it. It was a tablet and i know they can see it's a tablet BUT it was s $40 one i bought to use as like a video streamer for my security cameras 😂😂 Amazon replaced it of course.
