This is the video and song that made me fall in love with Porches. 5 years later I am freaking out that I am going to see him in LA in April.

LYRICS We try to feel it out I leave the house And now my body moves It is so physical It's got me so awake The darkness hanging Black water by my side I will go out tonight 'Cause I wanna be apart I wanna be a part I wanna be a part Of it all I will wait for it to come I am so patient And when it really does I'll let it have me whole 'Cause I wanna be apart I wanna be a part I wanna be a part Of it all

+noMoreCorporateBS I really don't understand the devoid of meaning, the scenes are full of meaning, it demonstrate a feeling of stagnation, like when we look to the computer screen and we don't know what to do after saw all the news of the day in our facebook timeline, every scene show us normal actions that we do nowadays, the action turns down and the thoughts gain space. Furthermore, listen to the vibration of the voice of the singer, is calm and sad, it's clearly a demostration of being tired with the things. Finally, the lyrics says: "I wait for it to come, I am so patient, and when it really does, I let it have me whole" and the chorus "I wanna be apart of it all". It's the singer saying that he waits for the moment that the things will happens, I personally identify myself with it, this for me is obviously full of meaning. btw, the song/vid are amazing.

+noMoreCorporateBS you have no idea, have you even listened to their earlier work? devoid of meaning? did you even listen to the words? its about the dichotomy of a loner/group of loners wanting acceptance whilst still in their isolation. the video perfectly captures the essence of the song. aaron maine is a genius, and when the world sees him for who he is, you are going to feel like such a moron for what you just said. you're just a fuckin outsider. educate yourself before trash-talking timeless works of art.

noMoreCorporateBS first of all, i want to apologise for my earlier comment, I'm just a really big fan and i took offence where i shouldn't have. "his writing doesn't convey that he truly FEELS the pain nor does it explore the depths and manifestations of it." how is that a reason to think any less of someones writing? the fact that he does or does not convey a particular feeling cannot possibly take away from his work, that just doesn't make any sense. furthermore, you don't gotta have a massive vocabulary or write all flashy to be profound. thats why i think aaron's lyrics are so characteristic. "What does a basketball in a bathtub, jars of milk, and a bunch of 20 somethings dressed like they're in a shoot for the Zara 2015 Fall lookbook have to do with the song?" i think a basketball in a swimming pool/bathtub/waterbody is the theme they're going for with this album. it's the album cover. that shot is probably just a subliminal reinforcement of the fact. about the milk and clothes- its art. you don't need to be able to justify or explain it in point form to someone. i think thats kinda how art works. you're in the right everywhere else i was just being a dick, my bad. but i really do think aaron is a remarkable songwriter and a living legend. in all honesty, I'm a bigger fan of his earlier work than the two new singles, and i was referring to that when i said "timeless works of art". I'm really eager to see what direction he's headed in with this album. seems like its more pop. i think this song may just be about him wanting to be accepted into the mainstream while also securing acceptance from his cult following for desiring so.
