I was recommended this band in 2016 by my then friend whom I would later go on to date and then separate due to the unhealthiness of the relationship and this was the first song I heard of this band. I immediately fell in love with the song and the band... Years later this song is still timelessly beautiful and brings back memories.

@Ayushi Ghosh Listening to music which was introduced to you by someone whom you go on to date and then end it with them is a weird feeling. You long for the happy moments with them. You miss them. You make new memories with it too. You don't want to listen to the music. But you want to listen to it at the same time. It's strangely beautiful.

I discovered this song at a time I was partying with my best friends every single weekend. At this time, I put the only woman I ever loved at the train station after (and before) that kind of amazing weekends. Crying as I was watching the train getting away. She left and for a while I couldn't go to this particular train station or listening to this amazing tune without getting puzzled in thousand little parts. This took place 2 years ago and it still shakes my stomach up and down.

Well think again. Mother lost her looks for you Father never wanted you I trust to love and then I find you never really felt the same There's something in your heart so cruel
@Altorin9 жыл бұрын
ive always heard it as "i thought it was the start of something beautiful" as that makes a hell of a lot more sense.... the song is about a guy who fell in love with a girl that led him on just long enough to break his heart. its about him coming to the realization that what he hoped was going to be a wonderful relationship turned out to be garbage because she didnt care about him and she wasnt even the person he thought she was. the realization is on him, not on her. if you listen to it as "you thought" then it becomes.... well it makes no sense, the whole point is that *he* thought it was the start of something beautiful. it becomes hateful instead of just sorrowful. it becomes him rubbing her nose in a failed relationship that she clearly wasnt interested in in the first place. its his hopes that have been crushed, not hers. in truth he doesnt really say a pronoun in that line anywhere in the song and its just our own mental need to have complete thoughts that places it there for us. you can draw either conclusion. i just think "i" makes more sense with the rest of the song then "you"

@Allie X on point! also pop music normaly is mediocre synthesizer drum-kit with some electro-beats and harmonies put on top. Which, in my opinion, makes pop songs regularly appear shallow, superficial ... fake ... it is just the PLASTIC-image that pop-music has ... Whilst THIS song here is played and instrumentalized by a bunch of real artists/professionels. And the music itself gives sooooo much heart and soul to the lyrics. That is something pop music is just not capable of i guess. Anyways have a nice day and enjoy some great music ;)
