I love how confident Steven is in his guitar playing, master musician!

Przyjacielu, zgadzam się z Tobą w 100 procentach.Ale to 30 lat doświadczenia Plus wrodzony talent.Zobacz Wesley skupiony do granic w perfekcji,Wilson nonszalancki w pewności co robi.Człowiek renesansu prog rocka, multiinstrumentalista, poeta,inżynier dźwięku,perfekcyjnie odbierający muzyków z którymi gra.Od 30 lat nie przestaje mnie ,nas zadziwiać.

There's something so desperately sad and uplifting in equal measure within this song, possibly like no other song ever. It makes me look at myself, an admittance of sorts. It's very emotional.

Steven's guitar noise/growl before he comes in for the solo sounds like he's about to end the world, god damn. Absolutely awesome, and then he kills the solo too!

I was lucky enough to discover Genesis at an early age and it was so so exciting and amazing waiting for each new album and tour. I was lucky enough to discover PT a few years ago and I’ve had that same feeling I had as a teenager. IMO PT are equally as a good in their own distinctive way as Genesis and that’s saying something. Please keep making amazing music.

You’re right, there is a pathos that is so slightly there it’s bearable palpable which makes it all the greater. Steven Wilson, an unappreciated genius. I’m so happy my brother introduced me a million years ago to Lips of Ashes…I stopped in my tracks and was completely in awe. The lyrics were not something I understood at all at the time and I wrote my brother back about how I had loved that song and then he explained to me what the lyrics meant. I just yammered back that no, that couldn’t be the case but the more I listened to it I realized that Steven has a dark side indeed but instead of denying it he embraces it .

I’ve heard Steven Wilson speak so many times about being an under appreciated talent and while he does it with guile and complete affability, I personally do NOT get it at all…nor does he I’d suspect. Who else is there I ask in the history of musicianship who has so masterfully built such a beautiful body of not only music but lyricism???? His lyrics are sheer poetry. In his genre and in this time his talents are comparable to Chopin…I’m thinking the sonatas (ha Chopin didn’t have to come up with lyrical poetry to boot. )Mr. Wilson is that rarefied individual with the kind of single minded drive that was common among only the greatest composers and I put him in that company.

I was born in '67 The year of Sgt. Pepper And Are You Experienced Into a suburban heaven Yeah, it should've been forever It all seems to make so much sense But after a while You realize time flies And the best thing that you can do Is take whatever comes to you 'Cause time flies She said "Luck is what you make it You just reach out and take it Now let's dance a while" She said "nothing ever happens If you don't make it happen And if you can't laugh and smile" But after a while You realize time flies And the best thing that you can do Is take whatever comes to you 'Cause time flies And laughing in the summer showers That's still the way I see you now How does time break down? With no marker, things slow down A conference of the strange And your family is deranged I could tell you what I'm thinking While we sit here drinking But I'm not sure where to start You see there's something wrong here I'm sorry if I'm not clear Can you stop smoking your cigar But after a while You realize time flies And the best thing that you can do Is take whatever comes to you 'Cause time flies And the coat you wore to Alton Towers Is still the way I see you now

You gotta be crazy, you gotta have a real need You gotta sleep on your toes, and when you're on the street You gotta be able to pick out the easy meat with your eyes closed And then moving in silently, down wind and out of sight You gotta strike when the moment is right without thinking
