Nice catch on porgies and kingfish, looks like they have been moving in after their spawn. I got a nice 17” sea bass while porgy fishing this morning on kayak.

There were 5 or 6 guys early this morning in Rockaway between 112th and the ferry stop, and one guy was killing it! He alone had at least 15 porgies all big n fat in a bucket and kept catching even as I walked by! How did he do that???!!! I was impressed!

Recently got a job as a recreational angler surveyer with the DEC and last week was my first time heading out to this area. Not too many people out since it was raining but the spot looked like it held potential. Good stuff and good luck!

@@TheReidsOutdoors I went to school for Marine Affairs, but its not a requirement for the job. You just need to be able to talk with people and have knowledge of fish species and some fishing terminology.
