Speaking to Talk’s Julia Hartley-Brewer Reform UK MP Rupert Lowe blasts the Labour government as "pork-barrelling clowns" for "preaching about integrity" and then accepting freebies.
"Gifts effectively influence decision making, it arguably breached the Bribery Act - which is criminal," he adds.

I worked for a local council as a support worker supporting vulnerable residents in the community. Often some of our clients liked to give us little gifts to say thank you for supporting them with some thing or helping them. Sometimes relatives of our residents liked to give us something to thank us for our work. However we were stictly forbidden to accept any form of gifting. Not even as much a a tin of shorbread biscuits at Christmas. This was because it might 'curry favour' or ' make us appear as corruptable; Breaking this rule woud have resulted in a formal disciplinary or even dismissal. Just imagine the power of gifting a tray of ferrero roche chocolates could sway over someone !
