They are in the jungle in case if you didn't notice. Some more, it's not like those people cook plenty or extra special for him. The guy is humble and not choosy, he ate whatever they cook and all of them eat together. That is rural life if you don't know. Cooking food no matter how simple is the way of welcoming someone to your home.
