Porsche 911 993 'GT2' Evo review

Starting life in 1995 as a regular 993 turbo, this car underwent a transformation in a German workshop around 4 years ago into the 'GT2 evo' reviewed here. Still 4WD but now sporting a GT2 Evo look and around 500bhp, it's a serious bit of kit.

Very rare, you lucky man H, I have been very blessed to have driven both 959 and 993 turbo S, albeit with an anxious owner by my side and not being allowed to take the 959 above 4500 rpm. I loved the turbo S personally. I’d love the chance to drive the GT2. My daily drive is an highly modified 996 turbo S, remapped and with exhaust, intake mods. I love it, especially when I have the occasional blast, against a more modern super car, the look on their faces is just a joy. So happy to see a video on what is almost a 993 GT2. It has got to be one of, if not the most special road cars ever made and it is a tragedy there isnt more content out there to spread the word. That thing is absolutely gorgeous.. The 993 GT2 is one of the best looking Porsche's ever imo, it can pull off a massive wing and bolted on fenders and still look classy. (unlike pretty much all other cars which have that.. *cough Liberty walk cough*) Can't wait to see it finished!

Love this car and can't wait to see the updates. I have a guards red 964RS recreation which is similar in concept to Jackals 993 and this GT2, i.e. not just cup wheels and lowered suspension... Anyway, contact Mark at Specialised Windscreens who makes the rear RS/GT spec non-wiper hole rear screens but retaining the heater element with the modern fine elements which are almost invisible - perfect for the UK!

Thats S&N in Aachen who worked on the Car Harry. The first invoice for 11900 is just a deposit on work to be done. the Auftragsnummer on the Invoice is the purchase order number and that should be enough for them to tell you what was done to the car. They are legally required to keep all invoices etc for at leat 5 years so they should still have it all there.

I don't think I could ever take a saw to a 993 turbo, my favourite Porsche along side the 993 GT2. It's just the best Porsche ever. But Harry's got the best of both worlds. The luxury of a turbo, performance of a GT2...for now anyway..

In some of the very early issues of evo magazine, there was a knowledge section at the back with positives and negatives for all the cars they had tested. The negative point next to the 993 RS was 'Harry won't buy one' I remember thinking.....Why not Harry? Why NOT buy one? :)

I think it's due largely to the 930's 4 speed gearbox. Not that they're bad cars, but a 993 is a very comfortable and refined car by comparison.
