The 2 main issues witht the 996 and 986 ive experienced is snapped bolts or stripped threads with aluminium corrosion and the elevated parts prices just because its porsche. However the payback is hands down the most rewarding and enjoyable car I've ever driven.

I've still got the mental scars from dealing with steel fixings going into alloy after refreshing all of the suspension components on my 986. The 996 will have to wait until spring as it isnt really needed, but will be good to do as a bit of preventative maintenance.

@@JB-996 yes my 986 was the same. I have thread inserts for every bolt size now. Best to assume the worst and anything less is a result .

How did you get the outcome put shaft out ? Slide hammer

No they come out easy once the bolt is removed. From memory a small pry bar to pop out.
