In 2022 the 2015 Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet is still the best all around true sports car in the world. Great performance, sound, reliability, fun and wow factor. More than enough performance for U. S. public roads and occasional track days if desired. A versatile and fun daily driver or weekend rocket. And, this is still a very excellent video. Lots of fun to watch again.

My fourth 911 after my 2002 Turbo, but this 2013 C4S is just too amazing... I promise you I won't buy a newer one... My 991.1 is going to be the ever lasting true classic.... Get the Burmeister and sport chrono w/sports exhaust... Worth the extra coin. 50 years TINS!!!

My wife and I have a 2104 911 Cabriolet and we absolutely love it. Our 911 is a "driver" that was purchased for the express purpose of long-distance travel. We drive the heck out of our Cabriolet and it's showing just shy of 60,000 miles on the odometer. We've been all over the country from the East coast to West coast and North and South from the Florida coast to the Great Lakes in our 911. We drive all sorts of roads but favor secondary roads over interstates. We've even driven our Cabriolet on a bunch of dirt roads in Glacier National Park. As I said our car is a "driver." Now, as to the video . . . I liked it, but YIKES, driving that fast on a twisty and very narrow mountain public road with limited sight distances and steep drop-offs makes me nervous just watching. Despite my nervousness and queasy stomach I can say, speaking only for myself, the 911 IS the perfect sports car.

Yep, we love putting miles on our 911. I'd like to turn a 100,000 miles on the odometer sometime within the next couple of years. Oh, and about reliability, our car has been bulletproof with absolutely no problems whatsoever. Porsche's reputation for reliability was a major factor for us in choosing a 911 as our "Touring Car." Ah, and glad to hear the video was sped up through the magic of editing. Whew! But I still get queasy watching! Ha Ha

I wanted a 2015 gts manual, but got a c4s 13 manual for pricing..wanted manual and that na engine (the sound,no turbos or hybrids). and love the wide body 4 models (plus northeast weather).. perfect.. nicer and wider than a 997 and the 991.2 has smaller engine and turbos..still nice but not what I wanted

I agree it's the best all around sports car, but you're missing the best part for those roads, which is the awesome 7 speed manual. I actually have a Porsche 991 C4S coupe with it and I'm so glad I saved $4,000 to get such a fun sports car driving experience, especially for roads like you were driving. As exciting as mindlessly mashing the throttle is or flapping away at paddles for only sequential shifts, actual being in control of the clutch and your gears makes driving the car a truly unforgettable and enjoyable experience.

I like flat rears like z06 corvette. 458 italia, ford Mustang, jaguar f type r .... As in that bulky rear just fucks up everything. If they just made it flat it would be my favorite. It has an awesome interior and looks good from the front but otherwise :(

Sorry but the 911 is not even a sports car, it's a GT car. The Boxster is their sports car. A sports car has two seats, a drop top and is very agile on the road, hence the Boxster.

mac daddy Real sports cars don’t have drop tops at all but both this and the Boxsters are great cars. Personally, I much prefer the 911 but I’m driving a Cayman 718 today and it’s a great sports car too!

I don't have anything wrong, I have an opinion. There are tons of articles and opinions on this. I've owned many cars in my life so my opinion is based on my own personal experience. I mentioned I was driving a Cayman (its a loaner) while my 911 gets serviced. to me the 911 is still everything a sports car represents. Is it bigger and heavier than it was originally, yes? But so is every car made. But a GT car, no, not in my opinion. Sorry if you think Road & Track has the ultimate market authority on automotive knowledge but that article is also just that authors opinion. Like everything else has changed and evolved, so has the definition of a sports car. They just don't make cars the same way they used to but just because current day sports cars have sound deadening material and Apple Car play doesn't mean they aren't the modern day definition of a sports car. At the end of the day, a car is what you want it to be. To me the 911 still represents the ultimate sports car and in my opinion, we're lucky to be driving one! Thanks for watching btw.....
