Lol the other work I did was to weld a bolt onto my automatic shift cable since the end was broken off and I didn't feel like figuring out how to pull the entire thing out plus they are kind of hard to find. You make it look easy bro. I'm definitely getting a lift this summer. If I ever get mine moving... Another odd thing I found is that the heater HVAC multi port electric plug was disconnected behind console. No idea where the end is. Honestly can't find it anywhere but did find a disconnected vacuum hose up there.

A lift or some quick jacks would save my life lol. What year is your car again? There’s a vacuum line goes to the heater control valve so that when you use the slider it opens the valve and that’s what allows coolant to flow through the heater core in the dash, all the mixing air guides are controlled by vacuum solenoids in the dash and the layout/ connections are different depending on the year, iirc your car is a later car like mine so you’ve got all that stuff going on behind the dash.

@@TakeFlightGarage oh mine is the early 85... So my heater control valve is cable driven lol. But yeah there are some vacuum solenoid under passenger side. And yeah I'm almost 40 so a lift would be a blessing!

Which brand axle did you go with?
@TakeFlightGarage3 ай бұрын
Duralast from Autozone. $100 and it’s complete ready to go on the car so no dealing with rebuilding or rebuild kits and all that mess. Plus you do get a warranty with them which is nice, but so far I haven’t had to use it ever. I used em once on my ‘83, replaced my passenger side after it failed on this car around a year/ year and a half ago, and now the drivers side in this car. None of the duralast ones have failed me so I feel good recommending it.

@@TakeFlightGarage Good to know! I've heard mixed things about the duralast axles, but that's a great point with the warranty. Does it look like a rebuilt OE unit?

@@SethFeingersh Honestly as far as I can tell it looks brand new, the only thing that looks like it’s been reused or refurbed is the outer part of the axle shaft, like the actual casing itself. It’s also advertised as a brand new part and not a refurbished one but companies do that all the time so take that as you will. I hope the video resolution is high enough so you can pause and take a good look at it, my stock footage is 4k 60fps but it gets compressed when I upload to KZbin and I’m never 100% sure what everyone else’s viewing experience is like.

By far the dirtiest job to do on this car

If you’re repacking the bearings yeah it’s bad but when you buy the whole assembly like this it’s not terrible!
