Wow, this job is way, way more involved than I would've imagined. Great video and it definitely convinced me not to try this on my 997!

I think I will just pay to have to back window replaced. You did an amazing job!

Excellent video! Thank you! My son is working on a similar Porsche and is replacing the soft top. What glue/adhesive did you use on your project. Thank you again!

You are correct, about persuading me to not take on this as a DIY project. I think it will be easier to rebuild my M96 engine than to replace the top.

amazing patience you have to do this yourself and it came out amazing! By chance do you have instructions on how to remove the clam shell or adjust it so the gaps line up correctly? thanks

looking for the same. Ever since my hydraulic rams were rebuilt, top works fine but clamshell travel is slightly limited, like the roof fully opens, clamshell tries to close but stop 95% of the way.

Congratulations, but WAY too complex for me to try on my own!

Every spring and tensioner in my top was rusted away.

Very impressive! I just got my 996 convertible top back from being serviced and they screwed up a few things; I used your video to help me sort them out but had a couple of questions: 1. They didn't connect the plastic ribs that hold the headliner in place right above the driver and passenger ; I could feel them and was able to push them in on the ends but not all the way across. They should connect all way, correct? If so, do you just keep applying pressure or is there another trick to get them to seat? I was pushing pretty hard. 2. They didn't re-glue the headliner fabric in the front so I used 3M Adhesive spray to pull it around and get it in place. That actually worked well and it looks good. 3. My dash rocker button that opens and lowers the car doesn't work now, although I can open and close it with the key. Does that switch have it's own line and is it the one you disconnected early in the video? Thanks for taking the time to post this; I wish I'd seen it before I took my car in, I think I could have fixed most, if not all, the issues myself.

Need to do the same job however my roof stuck in the service position any idea why? (Not due to fluid level)

Are those real birds chirping or an audio add-in effect? 😂. Takes guts to tackle this. I’m on the fence if it’s worth it. 50 hours!!
