Are you using Nylock nuts and wavy washers to secure the chain boxes to the case? I am having difficulty finding them displayed in the parts catalog to confirm part numbers. Thanks.
@klassikats4 ай бұрын
Dennis, I use an aluminum washer with a Nylock nut. In your car it would have been a flat washer, wave washer, and a plain nut. I do prefer the later style of fastening. Kurt

Hey Kurt on the 911 SC which way does the head gaskets go ? They are tapered so does the larger side face up towards heads or down towards the cylinders. There are no markings on them. Thanks.

Kevin, I put the larger face against the cylinder head. Thanks Kurt

Love your videos! I see you don’t use the restricted fittings for the cam oil line connection. What’s your take on these fittings? A good or bad thing? I think Porsche recommends?
@klassikats Жыл бұрын
The oil restrictors are designed for the late model turbos using full synthethic oil and a turbo oil pump and an oil spray tube that uses different oil spray tube. I would never use the oil restrictors in an early model car. Kurt

No gasket or sealant between chain box and case?
@klassikats Жыл бұрын
No it needs a gasket there. I usually do not use sealant + a gasket though. You need to make sure that the surfaces are clean, flat and dry when assembling. Kurt
