Something which you may find more useful is a photography slider, which would give you more side on panning shots rather than rotation paning

Maybe turn off auto stabilisation when panning on a tripod

Love it. I dont know what 996 911 prices are like in the UK, but I just picked up a '99 for the same cost as my '02 986S. Both are crazy bargains and true second hand heroes
@STSupercars7 жыл бұрын
Wow 996's are about 10k more than the equivalent 986S here. I've been keeping my eye on 996's, as you say, I think they are true second hand heroes. But for now the 986S does the job. What spec have you got on the 996?
@rodsalvador36087 жыл бұрын
Good luck on the search! My 996 is a '99 cab with hardtop, full leather, litronic, 3 spoke steering wheel and turbo twists. I initially thought the '99s were the worst; but with the dual row IMS, light weight, the early 996's have a lot going for them.

Very nice! Yeah if I was going to get one it would be a 1998/99 car

@ViralHub17 жыл бұрын
i used to have the 2001 boxster s, broke down alot, had to change the engine mounts, radiator fan, brake pads, everything was 1.5-2k aud per repair. i now drive the 2011 987 boxster s, it doesnt break down a lot. the point is, the older the car, the more likely it will break down and cost you a lot to repair. i dont advise buying a porsche too old. max 10 years old which would be the 2007 987 boxster S.
@STSupercars7 жыл бұрын
Yeah a lot of what you have listed is wear and tear items so would need to be considered for any car of this age. I guess it depends what you want, we run this 2002 model 986 Boxster as it is considerably less to buy than a 2007 987 S and it hasn't broken down once. You may have just been unlucky. There is also no guarantee that you won't need to replace mounts, suspension, bake pads/disks etc on a 2007 car. All of those items are serviceable. For anyone interested in any Porsche I would say, regardless of age to budget about 1k per year for maintenance, do your homework and most importantly don't forget to enjoy it.

ViralHub dang I own a 2001 S n it’s running good it has 90,000 miles on it any concerns at this point ?my mechanic said the ims shouldn’t give prob with this miles n that it was overblown outta proportion the ims bearing thing

There isn't any rattles or unbearable noises in a Boxster, especially with the roof up. Yours clearly has an awful aftermarket exhaust which sounds horrid. It's the best handling car on the road, as fast as you like, and a joy fast or slow.

I have the 2.7 there’s more than enough power available considering the maximum speed limit in uk is 70 I don’t buy these for speed because you’ll end up banned I just love these cars I also owned a 911 before the Boxster I like the Boxster more because it’s convertible for summer and I have a hardtop for the summer so best of both worlds.

Enjoyed the video.....going 2 say upfront not a Porsche fan...have driven a couple over the years....so running costs, well they can became eye watering ever quickly if something goes wrong...clutch etc....notchy gear change if that's the sync going them WOW expensive......that said i did enjoy the video & it's content
@STSupercars7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Chris! I completely agree and it is something I will be discussing in a future video. This car in particular has had the syncro's changed, clutch change, RMS and IMS seals changed and a full suspension refresh all carried out by a specialist and it was well north of £5k so running costs are a real concern and something I want to pick up in a future vid
@vladimiralvarez11626 жыл бұрын

Right constructive comment time. I think you need to plan what you are going to say so much better. People watch these clips to become informed. Complaining about your camera equipment is of no interest to the public, I like the fact that young chaps are doing this kind of stuff, but you need to sharpen up the act. Thank you anyway....

Nice video again :) I've owned a 987 Boxster and a 981 Cayman PDK in the past. Still prefer my M140 though!
@STSupercars7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Oh nice was your 987 a manual? I agree the m140i is a better daily drive but there is still something about a manual flat six Porsche as a second weekend car. I mean really I want a manual Audi R8 V10...now that would be fun!
@CarFinanceSimplified7 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Boxster was a manual. It was nice don't get me wrong - I just like the refinement and comfort of the M140 as well as its performance!
@STSupercars7 жыл бұрын
Yeah I completely get that. Have you driven the new 718? That is so much more refined than the 986/7 I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.
@CarFinanceSimplified7 жыл бұрын
ST Supercars Yes I ordered a 718 last year but then changed my mind. To be fair, the 981 was more refined than the 987. The 718 was very nice but didn't sound very good!
@STSupercars7 жыл бұрын
JD I don't blame you the 718 just isn't the same with the 4pot engine. Drives and handles very well but sounds like a bag of nails

No because is not Reliable, if it's not reliable is garbage. A turd is a turd no matter what brand it's is. Porsche should seek advice from Lexus on how to build real quality.

IMS failed twice in mine, Porsche replaced the engine at 4000 miles with the same design flawed engine and it blew again at under 25 K miles. Porsche did nothing for me at that time.
