I have an 07 Cayman S, manual with original steering wheel. I'd like to upgrade the steering wheel to something like this. I really like the 718 Carbon Fiber wheel but don't know if it would work. Would the airbag work with an upgrade?

you need new airbag.. not sure if wiring is same between 987.1 and 982 but I have seen new 2019 airbags being retrofitted into 991.1

markjones338 Paddles don't need coding done this mod on my 987.2 pdk boxster Only thing is car really needs "sport " mod which mine hasn't got but is being added on a remap so is in permanent sport mode

ah man!! I feel like I owe you a verdict. any guesses?? well if you guessed its awesome you are right!! The buttons are pretty confusing to use. Each button allows for both down shift and upshift and paddels remove that confusion. they also offer faster shift since the pull is slightly shorter than the buttons. If you are considering this mod for your car, i say go for it

@@blendlinegarage42 thank you! I'm looking at some 987s with a PDK and test drove a couple with the stock buttons and hated them. I heard the paddle shifters completely transform it. Thanks for confirming!

That's a great upgrade but you need to get it covered in the proper color leather, the black with tan airbag looks weird.

probably ebay, from junk yard. brand new OEM wheels from dealer are outrageously expensive.
