Get this car. I never regretted it. The moment I saw a used one for sale at a really good price I jumped on it. Talked to the guy on the phone Weds, it was in my garage by Sat. This car is awesome. I love it more than the new version. And right now you can get one used for as much as a fully equipped Honda Accord. Or a base model Acura TSX. I've taken turns in this car at outrageous speeds, I've straight lined it to 160MPH, and I've had many amazing dates in this car. Ugh...After 3 years of owning this car I'm still in love with it.

Awesome! I'm considering buying one swell, very careful as I've read that there's a risk of IMS failure in these models. Any advice on how to deal with that when purchasing one?

***** The Cayman S doesn't really have an IMS issue although it is possible. That was more of a problem with the prior year Carrera models. The 09-12 models for sure cannot have IMS issues hehehe. I would take a drive with the person selling the car. See how they drive it. The Cayman is not meant to be driven below 2800 RPM for long periods. See if the guy rides the clutch too much or brakes too hard. They recommend oil change at 20,000 miles BUT the owner should be changing it every 5000-7500 miles. Low mileage isn't a big factor, I would say finding one with 35,000-45,000 (depending on the year) would be fine. Even 60,000 is fine. A Cayman driven properly should last well over 100K. Obviously carfax is a biggie. Look for a good Porsche shop in your area. Never take it to the dealership. Oil changes are between $125-$200 on the high end. I think the dealership wants $350-450 if I remember correctly. The 06-08 Models are very affordable. But it would be nicer to get the 09-12 model if you have the funds. More HP/TQ, LED Lights, Aux Jack for SmartPhone, better interior, definitely NO IMS issues anymore. And I could be right or wrong here, but I think I'm right. The 09-12 Cayman in Stick Shift come with a hill holder and optional LSD in case you plan to drive like a maniac. Back tires are wider and more expensive than the fronts (staggered) will probably run you about $750 for a pair of Michellin Pilot Sports. Its not as fuel efficient but I'd get them 10" wide. The Cayman S can also be dropped an inch with the stock springs too.

@Quiksilver209 Unique dreams have a funny way of not happening in real life. I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but but for every big dreamer who made it big deviating from the norm and doing something spectacular, there are a thousand to dreamed big and then realized too late that the world wasn't ready, wasn't in the mood, or whatever. My personal plan is to go into engineering, which is not only awesome because you get to MAKE things that other people drool over, but it pays rather well.
