I bought this game when it came out in the late 90’s and it was a bit ordinary. I didn’t touch it again after two months. The game had many, many limitations.

@@edge1000 Slow top speed, lack of circuits to race on, lack of diversity with the car options. 4 different coloured cars to choose from and that was it. The car wanted to over steer all the time even on the tightest corners which was annoying and stole from the realism they were trying to achieve. Porsche should’ve thought twice before allowing these fools to use their Boxster to such poor effect. The game was quite lame even for its time, where within 30 mins of playing it you could see how little work actually went into it to rush it out to store shelves as an un-refined product. I felt dudded for buying it within a couple of days of ownership (teenager at the time).

@@cliffbooth7075 Great game. Expecting realism from a ps1 game is either a misnomer or delusion. This did what it said on the tin, enjoyable, brilliant soundtrack and fantastic nostalgia. Porsche would’ve benefited from a marketing perspective invariably (not that they needed it) but it served the purpose of introducing a new generation to a historic car and enhanced their brand. Perhaps Gran Turismo was the game for you

@@rishipersaud9898 The original Playstations at the time did have realism with sporting games & were state of the art at the time (out performed any rival machines at the time). Basketball, soccer, cricket & F1 racing games as an example were quite advanced & realistic (at the time though, not nowadays obviously which was what overruled your thoughts. The Porsche game was a lame duck & quite easily forgettable. GT wasn’t something I had time for either. That game had no realistic physics when it came to the driving (which was the most important part). I could see what they were trying to achieve, but with so many cars available & a limited programming budget, the driving representation fell flat and robbed the game of the fun you should’ve had while playing it.

If I remember though it had a good interpretation of grip and of the car being on the road so to speak. I much preferred this over ridge racer etc, only gt was any better with car handling that or V rally oh and Richard burns rally felt as if the car was on a road

Not even close. Porsche Challenge is a skid mark on the underpants of the car racing genre. It and Gran Turismo have as much in common as jelly and a front end loader.

This game sucks if there's only some Porsche Boxster. I bought the game today and I was hoping it would be a great game with a lot of Porsche. So I bought that game for nothing. I've just wasted my money. 😞

It's a nice experience which they showed the designing of the boxsters as well but i do agree on more choice for porsches .
