When I asked to test drive an F-150 truck they didn’t let me unless I was going to buy one because they didn’t want me wasting there time! Drove to the next Ford dealer down the road, test drove an F-150 and lease one the same day!

Dude something very similar happened to me at Porsche Woodland HIlls, I went for a Cayenne Turbo, at this point I had a Panamera GTS in my house in FL and had had a Macan GTS in FL too, so I had never been or driven a Cayenne Turbo, so I was assigned to a sales Person and We looked at the numbers and the guy was trying to under sale me a car, meaning I was looking for something around the 130 to 150 range and the guy wanted to sell me a 70k one so finally We found something I liked and asked the guy for a test drive and he said and I quote "You do not test drive a Porsche, you just buy them if you want to test drive a car go to Lexus" so at that point I left and it took about 15 or 20 min. to realize that what happened was fucked up and called Porsche of America made a big deal about that, it got to the Regional Manager that called me and the store GM called me to go back to the store. So yeah some of these sales people are not too helpful.

Went to a porsche dealer here to kill time while a friends car was at another dealer, same as you, sales people ran the other way. We walked out, and the manager came running out, asked if anyone helped us, he brought us back in, told the guys to prep the turbo for sale. We sat there, he ordered us pizza and made the sales people freak thinking they lost a huge sale to prove NOT to do what they did. Wish your experience was better. We even took it for a test drive! Great moment

Im a car sales exec from Manchester, Eng. I went to my local BMW dealer to buy the new facelift 3 series back in October 2019. The RECEPTIONIST told me that the car wasnt officially released yet, eventhough they had two demo cars directly outside the main doors! 😡 I then spoke to a sales guy who again told me they didnt have any to test drive. Shouldve seen the look on his face when I corrected him and the fact that Im a car salesman! I walked out and bought an Audi A4 instead!

I'm no rich guy, but do love looking around at car dealerships. And I have to say the difference in treatment at high-end dealers is stunning. I've been treated very nice at Mercedes Beverly Hills, twice over 10 years apart in Mercedes Manhattan and at the local dealer called County Hills Mercedes. Another standout is Ferrari Vancouver, so awesome. But another standout more like your dealings with Porsche is Lamborghini Vancouver- they went out of there way to avoid me and not even acknowledge my presence. Feels bad to be treated like that.

I had a similar experience at PCBH with a 911 GTS- I walked in and they completely ignored me, I go up to reception to ask for them to get someone- nothing. Then after standing around looking at the car and asking someone to help me because I’d like to purchase it, I was told to stop loitering before they call security. This was in 2018. Worst dealer ever.

I been doing some research online for listings of different Porsche dealership in CA because I plan to buy a Porsche Taycan sometime soon. I did come across the Beverly Hills Porsche dealership and saw that their customer service review was very horrible. So yeah, I'll be steering away from that dealership. By the way, you're hilarious! My grandpa raced Porsche’s for years until his brakes failed in his personal daily driver car and caused him to drive into a reservoir. He is an engineer that thought at Stanford. For years he researched what went wrong and found the cause to be the flawed design of the braking system. He tried to take them to court for 20 years but with no success and he saw no changes in design even in their more modern vehicles. He was never able to win the lawsuit but has not driven a Porsche since.

My local Porsche Dealership here in Stockholm was very sweet towards me I got greeted every time I visited and got to test drive multiple cars. Guess its really up to the salesman. I think he wasnt allowed to let you test drive without really making sure you are insured and able to cover all the damages once its wrecked. Its happened too many times during test drives and it would be really troublesome for them if the costumer refuses to pay after the damage.

Years ago a son of a Saudi price who was studying in NYC wanted to buy 2 Porches, a 911 Turbo and an SUV so I took him to Manhattan Motorcars, they ignored us so we went to the woman in front disk and before we said any word she told us "You are welcome to look around but make sure you don't touch anything!! Eventually I took him to a dealership in NJ where they treated us in a great manner and he ended up buying 3 cars at the spot and left the sales man a very generous tip. since then I never stepped a foot in any dealership.

This type of attitude at dealerships was so common back in the day. I worked at Porsche dealership earlier this year and this type of selling doesn’t fly anymore. We would always do anything we could to make sure the customer was happy, regardless of payment type. Not surprised to hear this type of experience from a place like Beverly Hills. You simply can’t run a dealership properly with salespeople being cocky and arrogant anymore. If you’re looking for another Porsche in the future, let me know! Just a shot in the dark.

I own a small watch store and one thing ive learned is that to be the best sales guy it is about NOT being a fucking douche bag. Treat everyone like theyre rich, and ESPECIALLY treat the rich people how they want. When I heard about that turboS sales guy requiring a credit app when Ale pulled up in an aventador I was shocked. All my cliental love me because everyone gets treated like a king. Before buying my M2 I went to test drive a used one and they told me the same shit (pulled up in my previous car which was a ecoboost stang). I straight up looked at the sales manager who told me that and said "I dont buy cars I cant test drive, and I dont run my credit to test drive cars." He shut up and handed me the keys.

Oh trust me i get the frustration! I used to work as a lot tech at a dealership of a different brand and would walk into the Porsche dealership to look at cars. I made a comment on how the emergency wheel was neon orange. Needless to say the manager/owner of the dealership kicked me out without allowing any sort of explanation and offered to call the cops. 2 years later not working as a lot tech anymore I go in and try to buy a Porsche cayenne and gave the manager/owner a big FU for kicking me out! Same sort of thing happened to me.. I walked into a NISSAN dealership in Orlando 2 years ago @ 25 years old to buy an R35... they wouldn't even open the door for me to look inside / sit in it... they "couldn't find the keys," and the guy who knew where it was was on lunch (this was like 10:00am), and they didn't know when he would be back. So i went home, hopped online, found a better spec in Chicago and went and got it from some misc. exotic car dealership... some of these normal dealers piss me off.

I had a similar experience here in Manhattan NY. dealer. They were dicking me around I was so pissed I told them to fuck off. I literally walked across the street and got myself a nice Audi RS7. Michelle was wonderful. She got me on the list for the R6 Avant now can't wait.

I am not the sort of person to comment. But Ale, have to agree with your experiance. My mum wanted to Test Drive a 911 a few years back as we were in the market to buy a new sports car. Walk into a Porsche dealership and spoke to the reception. My mum just went and said, i like this car and am tempted to buy one. Can we speak to someone and arrange for a Test driver. We were cash buyers too. Ofcourse at this point we had already walked around the showroom and were looking at the cars and specs. So she knew what she was getting into. A flashy young sales man turns up! Hey, how are you! Expensive car (we acknowledge), most people come into us looking for a 911, but can only afford a Boxter and walks us into that direction. Well, they lost a sale... kept calling us after for a few months! Never went back!

I called Porsche of Beverly Hills about a car I was looking at online & got the snub-nose on the phone. I told the receptionist to shove it after she was unable to help me because I was out of town, but I live in California. I will never recommend them for anything. I wound up buying a similar car all the way across the US at Danbury Porsche in Connecticut & had it shipped to my house, they were the bomb at that dealership. It’s the dealer , not the car.

I have a jaguar and I take it to the Jaguar Porsche dealership for maintenance. I'm a young black guy and the male salesmen who seem to be from various countries all ignore me, whereas the females are very polite and actually acknowledge me. The service guys are cool too. It's just those uptight asshole salesmen who think they're so amazing

I had Autonation ford in Marietta, Georgia do the same thing to me, I was 19 and I have had good credit since I started my credit and I was already financing a 2019 Malibu I wanted to trade in for a 2020 5.0 Mustang, a Salesman came up to help me and I saw an orange 5.0 Mustang on the lot and wanted to take a look at the interior and run some numbers as well as test drive. He tells me the keys are locked and I need to be 21 years old to test drive because guys my age just stop by test drive and wreck the cars. So I left then went down the street in and out in an hour with my Charger RT Blacktop Edition where they literally told me “HEY HERES THE KEYS, start it up and go for a test drive and I bet the active exhaust will get you hooked.” came back worked numbers, traded my Malibu and would do business again in a heart beat.
